We read the AZ Republic so you don’t have to

The Hillary-endorsing Arizona Republic newspaper appears to be on a quest to outdo its own excesses.

First, a bit of levity which is deserving of being called, “a good for a laugh” headline:

“As Sen. Jeff Flake stokes White House speculation, his political brand seems in tatters.”

No kidding? Flake is not running for reelection to his single term senate post due to 18% approval ratings, no doubt exacerbated by his relentless brutalization of President Donald Trump. As Trump’s numbers continue to soar, Flake’s have tanked. If he can’t generate support in his home state, it’s unlikely he’d fare better elsewhere, though he’s irrationally been to the primary battleground state of New Hampshire twice recently.

On Saturday, as the Supreme Court confirmation vote was taken, one of the radical hooligans in the senate gallery yelled out, calling Jeff Flake, “a coward.” These are the same people he has actively courted, and are now turning on him. No wonder his eyebrows are down-turned and his perpetual smirk has been replaced by the pained look of a man with inflamed hemorrhoids.

Moving right along, we’ll give you a front page headline under a photo of a person resembling the newspaper’s editorial page editor, Phil Boas, though sporting long hair. You’ll remember him as the man responsible for overseeing the in-tandem opinion pieces — some masquerading as reports — persistently hammering and working double-time to remove Sheriff Joe Arpaio from the elected office he held for an unprecedented six four-year terms. Arpaio is Boas’ father-in-law.

But, no. The photo is not Boas, but a person named Natalie Diaz. Below the photo is this headline: “ASU poet gets MacArthur ‘genius’ grant, worth $625 K.”

Turns out the “genius” is “one of only 25 people nationwide to receive such a bounty. And what sets this poet who works in the ASU English Department apart from the academic herd?  According to the report, “Her poetry draws on her experiences as a Mojave American and Latina to challenge the mythological and cultural touchstones underlying American Society.” There’s even more that makes Diaz so deserving of the prize money.

In addition to Latina, Diaz self identifies as ‘queer and indigenous” expressing hope “to offer visibility to queer people and show how they have been hurt and erased. Also how they deserve and express love.”

If you thought the English Department was a safe space for your college students, think again. There is probably an assignment on “Toxic Masculinity,“ which is actually being considered as a course for integration into Minnesota kindergartens.

The Chicago-based John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation is a “philanthropic” organization with assets of approximately $7 billion that supports the promotion of leftist causes such as “over incarceration, global warming and nuclear risk,” as it “continues its historic commitments to the role of journalism in a responsible and responsive democracy.”

Get it?

The description of the “commitment” of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation sounds more like a threat than a promise. If the obviously left wing organization is so concerned about “over incarceration,” why doesn’t it concentrate its efforts in ridding its home base of Chicago of crime? Chicago has a higher weekly death toll than any war zone. In addition to the dead, a good percentage of the murderers will be incarcerated.
In July the Chicago Tribune headlined the death toll for the first half of 2018:
Number of people shot in Chicago this year surpasses 1,400

In regard to ASU, the astronomical salaries and perks paid to President Michael Crow and his wife Sybil Francis should set the hair of any tuition paying parents on fire. Crow is a committed liberal who has long promoted in-state tuition for illegals as the rates and fees for Arizona students continue to escalate.

ASU’s far left Cronkite School of Journalism provides sweat shop workers for the equally far left local newspaper. It’s a symbiotic relationship that harms anyone seeking truth or relying on getting unbiased news from the AZ Repulsive.. Think of the MacArthur Foundation as similar to any of George Soros’ extremist organizations, but MacArthur funds the continuation of left wing bias passing as journalism.

According to a recent article in the State Press, The Arizona Board of Regents has awarded ASU President Michael Crow a $150,000 bonus. He’s such a prize that his contract was also extended through June 30, 2023.

In May 2018 Crow received a salary increase of $90,000 bringing his annual salary to $690,000. He also received an increase in his retirement plan, which now accumulates about $145,000 each year. Not mentioned us the money that goes toward his “living expenses” at his Paradise Valley mansion, and all of the additional perks such as insurance and a car.

The President of the United States is paid $400,000 a year, plus an extra expense allowance of $50,000 a year. Pres. Trump has donated his each of quarterly salaries to federal agencies. Most recently his salary went to the Department of Veterans Affairs. His previous donations have gone to the National Park Service for battlefield infrastructure, the Department of Education to fund a summer camp and the Department of Health and Human Services to battle the opioid crisis.

Does Crow make any major donations of his wealth, paid for by the working stiff parents sending their dimpled darlings for a worthless LIBERAL education at ASU? He could well afford a better toupee and doesn’t even part with the few hundred bucks for that, preferring to wear a ridiculous, ill fitting brown tarp on his bald pate.

Got a laugh out of the Flake headline. It’s similar to reporting the earth is round. Flake was not only called a coward for doing the right thing (for a change) in voting for Judge Kavanaugh’s SCOTUS confirmation. he was previously called a “coward ” by the adoring Arizona Republic back in 2013. He parted company with “Maverick” McAwful in that instance, supporting Second Amendment freedoms that resonate with Arizona voters. At the time, he was only covering his own political ass. He later backtracked.

Here’s an old article about Flake’s Dem Handler, Chris Coons (D) (Del)

    “the bearded Marxist”

And here, in a very few sentences is Nancy Pelosi, explaining to an audience the Art of the Wrap-Up Smear.

You will quickly realize that you’ve seen this widely used by the Left.
Nancy Pelosi schools her audience in the tactic called the wrap-up smear.

      • MacBeth says:

This short video exposes better than anything I’ve seen and heard, the radical left and what they stand for.

Nancy Pelosi very clearly states that lies work, simply dismissing the vile underhandedness as “a tactic.”

        Thanks for this expose.
