Bias mars AZ U.S. Senate McSally, Sinema debate

Debate “moderator” Ted Simons was clearly unable to be impartial as he gave unjustified leeway to Kyrsten Sinema, while restricting Martha McSally

Arizona’s sole U.S. Senate debate was broadcast Monday evening, Oct. 15, co-hosted by the less than objective Arizona PBS/KAET Channel 8 and the Arizona Republic newspaper.

U.S. Representatives — Republican Martha McSally (CD-2) and Democrat Kyrsten Sinema (CD-9) — are running for Arizona’s U.S. Senate seat vacated by anti-Trumper Jeff Flake, who chose not to wage a reelection campaign based on 18 percent approval ratings.

The newspaper’s political reporter Maria Polletta and Ted Simons, host of Channel 8’s “Arizona Horizon,” supposedly moderated the debate, though Simon’s partiality toward Sinema was clearly apparent.

Using her soft, cultivated campaign voice, chameleon Sinema refused to respond to questions deserving of answers, saying, “Martha is trying to make this about me, making ridiculous attacks and what we know is that this campaign is about every day Arizonans and I’ll fight for them.”

When McSally, who identified herself as “pro-life,” pushed for a response Sinema finally admitted she would have voted against the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

But when Martha McSally, (read her full bio) the first female pilot to fly a fighter jet in a war zone and command a fighter squadron in combat, retiring in 2010 as a full Colonel, noted that CNN reported last week that in 2003 Sinema said it was okay for Americans to join the Taliban to fight our military, demanded an apology, Ted Simons rushed to Sinema’s defense — quickly shutting down McSally and ending the contrivance posing as a debate. This can be viewed in the concluding minutes of “the debate.”*

Conservative SRAZ doesn’t claim to be impartial. Because we support Republican U.S. Rep. Martha McSally in this crucial senate race that is being watched nationwide for its impact on the continuation of President Trump‘s winning agenda, we invite our readers to get the rest of the story, by watching for the straight scoop about Sinema.

  1. Arizona Conservative Guy says:

We watched the debate last night with three other couples and were all shocked not only by Sinema but by the clearly hostile treatment Martha McSally received by Ted Simon. Two couples who have watched ‘Horizon’ over the years correctly predicted what his demeanor would be. In a perfect world he’d be fired, but he represents the liberal mindset of ASU and PBS.

The Republic reporter was clearly out of her league mostly looking terrified and then obviously relieved when she finished her mini excursions into questioning. McSally did not get evenhanded treatment, but she will get our votes!!

  2. State Committeeman says:

Couldn’t bring myself to watch what I knew would be a one sided exercise. We vote on election day. Early voters don’t always have the full picture. I urge our friends to hold off mailing in their ballots until they have ALL of the information, much of it coming out later in the campaigns. Sinema has done a total transformation as she attempts to confuse voters.

  3. Frankly Speaking says:

Sinema showed herself as a committed liberal completely disconnected from reality..Given her radical background, I shouldn’t be surprised, but it was like she was sleepwalking through the mire of her political life, carefully trying to avoid potholes, but stepping right into them. McSally was the clear victor, regardless of Ted Simon’s efforts to waylay her.

  4. Kent says:

This is what Dr. Zuhdi Jasser has to say about Kyrsten Sinema and national defense. What a powerful message from this defender of freedom.

    • Sam Fox says:

Kent, THANK YOU for the video. As bad as I think McSally may be, KS makes her look pretty good. I figure, since McS has ran her mouth about supporting Mr. T’s agenda, says she wants a wall, lower taxes & so on, McS pretty much HAS to support Mr. T to at least some degree or AZ voters who get her elected will have a fit!

We know KS won’t back Mr. T at all for any reason, so McS looks to be a lot less evil than KS. (That should be BS…)

I come to that conclusion after hearing Dr. Z.

  5. Jack Lavelle says:

I also didn’t watch. I’m retired from that game. I just have to share a KSinema golden oldie from my files:

“I just think fashion’s important. When you show up to session and you’re doing really horrible bills all day long and (Arizona state Rep.) Russell Pearce is up there mumbling about patriots and guns and illegals, all I can do is look down at my shoes and think I have the best shoes in the building. That’s all that keeps me there.
    — Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Phoenix District 15)
(The Arizona Republic’s YES section, Friday, March 17, 2006)

Yep. Best shoes in the building. That’s our girl. I hope Martha stood her ground in the face of expected bias at the debate.

Now make sure everyone you know votes for Martha.

    • Clementine says:

Obviously Sinema is a deep thinker. Thanks for the insight.

I like nice shoes, too, but I also have brains. That’s why Martha McSally has my vote.

  6. Saguaro Sam says:

Tutu’s $$$ coming from organizations funded by György Schwartz (who you know as George Soros).

  7. Braveheart says:

Thanks for the link to the debate.
Ted Simons needs to be shown the door for his overt actions as a supposed “moderator.” The only one who was moderated was Martha McSally, who he cut off when she was attempting to make relevant points. I won’t be tuning in to Horizon again. He showed his true colors in a role that was meant to be played straight and without bias. I was actually screaming at the TV! Our dog left the room.

  8. Jig says:

They should have been asked about their lesbianism!

  9. Sam Fox says:

Jig, whose lesbianism? McSally & Sinema? First have heard on that. I was for Dr. Ward. Now I haveta get a tetanus shot & vote for McS. Can I wear hazmat suit to the polls?

    • Sam Fox says:

Jig, I did some looking & found KS is bi-sexual but only rumors about McS being a lezzy.
