Petsas, O’Connor: Conservatives are “kooks, hyenas and jackals”

LD 28 state legislative candidate Kathy Pappas Petsas is a RINO political opportunist undeserving of your vote

Longtime readers of SRAZ know this site delves into local, statewide and national politics. They are frequently interconnected, featuring overlapping players  Occasionally, when the issue is compelling, we even hunker down into one of the thirty statewide districts, from which our state House and Senate members originate. Districts — representing both major parties — have elected chairmen, put in office by elected precinct committeemen, known as PCs.

Recently we focused on the underhanded campaign mailer (image included), sent out by the Arizona Republican Party to Republican voters in Legislative District 28. The mailer deliberately omitted highly-qualified GOP incumbent state legislator Maria Syms. It has been followed by more of the same. To say these actions raise more questions than they answer, would be the height of understatement.  Although the Pro-Life plank is integral to the Republican Platform, both former House member, Kate Brophy McGee, now running for the state senate, and newcomer rabble-rouser Kathy Pappas Petsas are pro-abortion advocates. Syms is Pro-Life.

You might recall Petsas as she cozied up to leftist AZ Republic columnist Laurie Roberts denigrating conservative Republicans as “Kooks,” and advocating on behalf of “DeKookifying” the Arizona Republican Party. In Bosnia in the early 1990‘s, this despicable action was known as “ethnic cleaning,” resulting in wiping out perceived enemies. Yes, we know, only symbolic political deaths are being called for here. And conservatism is not the same as ethnicity, though many of us believe our values are in our DNA.

Although we are not subscribers to the Capitol Times’ Yellow Sheet, it’s been reported that Scott O’Connor, the RINO former LD 28 chairman has declared to its reporters that he’s “proud” of the AZ GOP for kicking Syms to the political curb and boasted that he cast a single shot for Petsas, to give more oomph to his vote.  He also claims he enjoys seeing the “hyenas and jackals” who populate Seeing Red AZ and Republican Briefs have fits over the denigration of state Rep. Maria Syms.

Those “kooks, hyenas and jackals” are all of us, folks.

This 2012 post titled, “RINO Kathy Petsas aids Dem fundraising machine,” clearly shows she’s been laying the groundwork for not only her current state House race, she’s long been homing her incisors to take a bite out of your conservative neck. Also from 2012 is, “Conservatives targeted in LD 28.”

Get up to speed.  Tomorrow is Election Day There will be no do-overs. Vote Republican, not Republicrat. If you live in Legislative District 28, vote only for Maria Syms.

Thanks for this post exposing the efforts to turn Legislative District 28 blue. It was a longtime SOLID Red district and has incrementally been usurped by Republicans In Name Only (RINOs). When Scott O’Connor was elected chairman, it was made abundantly clear conservatives were not welcome. Rob Haney had previously been elected to lead the district twice and the negative impact after he was gone, was dramatic. Haney went on to be elected Maricopa County chairman.

McKee recruited Petsas. They are tight as clams. Neither of them is conservative. For the AZ GOP to involve itself in this deceit is abhorrent to me. When our state party leadership works to elect RINOs , we are in desperate times. It’s true that the original mailer has been followed up by others from the state party. I’ve received them and can attest to the veracity of this disgusting effort.

I’ve tried calling AZ GOP headquarters several times and have only gotten an answering machine. If that;s the best these RINOs can do during a crucial election, they clearly are not committed to victory.

Why are we witnessing this shameless treachery from the Arizona Republican Party? This is not what I signed up for.

  4. Rob Haney says:

You also may remember that RINO McCain supporting PCs from this district led the Republicans For Janet Napolitano campaign for governor. Scott O’Conner also was the LD Chair who did away with the opening prayer at the LD meetings.

Calling their opponents names when they are confronted with the truth is a tactic of the left. But the left is where RINOs reside that is why they are called RINOs. And they hate being called RINOs. Just ask Kathy, Kate or Scott.

      Rob Haney:
The fact that you read and comment on this site tells me all I need to know. Aside from Seeing Red AZ, finding a reliable conservative site is an impossible mission. The state Republican Party is devoid of any conservative convictions as evidenced by its aggressive actions against state Rep. Syms in legislative district 28. I’m thoroughly sickened by its role in this deception.

Why is anyone surprised by the antics of the AZGOP? Lines just following Graham who is a crook. I know this because arizona freedom alliance website busted him and his money laundering scheme before Graham was elected chairman of AZGOP. RINOs didn’t care. Crooks give courtesy to each other. That website is also a place for conservatives. McCain may be gone but his legacy lives on in Lines, Graham, Petsas, O’Connor and McGee. Why do we need a democrat party when we have these guys? Thx for SRAZ for busting these RINOS. Many more need to be called out and pushed over the the dems.

The website for the Arizona Secretary of State is sorely lacking information.

What a bunch of BS—–showing stuff about how to sign up to be a notary.
    And this on the website:

PLEASE NOTE: Pima County has declined to provide the requisite polling place information to the Secretary of State’s Office for the purpose of making this polling place locator usable for Pima County residents. Accordingly, please contact the Pima County Elections Department or visit https://www.recorder.pima.gov/VoterStats/PollingInfo for polling place information in Pima County.

The dems are out there united and working hard. I’ve seen them at the malls and on the streets. Meanwhile the repubs fight amongst themselves. If AZ goes blue, it’s our own damn fault!

  7. Trevor says:

Is Scott O’Connor related to Justice O’Connor? And also I would not be surprised if Scott and Kathy are Never Trumpers like Jimmy Lindblom in LD12.

  9. Not Fooled says:

The McCainiacs not only took over Dist. 28, they have controlled the state party under Robert Graham and now Jonathan Lines, both of whom campaigned as conservatives, masking their actual RINO agenda. Their church is headquartered in a sanctuary state.

Graham was paid off for maintaining the liberal slant by none other than John McCain, who ensured that Graham’s son was appointed to the Naval Academy.

  10. Maggie says:

I notice the RINOs Kathy Pappas Petsas and Kate Brophy McGee both use their maiden names as an attachment to their married names in an interesting assertion of their separate creds.

Maria Syms, who has a career that far surpasses either of them, uses only her married name. I see that not as submissive, but honoring her husband, children and her vows.
