Ducey still appeasing educrats with Dem ABOR app’t

After backtracking on his pledge not to reward Arizona’s striking #REDS for ED public school teachers who disregarded their contractual agreements as they abandoned over 840,000  students for a week, Gov. Doug Ducey caved in to their demands for a 20% salary increase for their part-time jobs. His acquiescence emboldened the unionists further as they wielded their new-found influence in the recent Nov. 6, election, turning previously red Arizona a deep purple.

Now easily reelected to his final term as governor by his teacher comrades, Ducey with no further constraints, has appointed Democrat Fred DuVal, his former 2014 gubernatorial rival, to the Arizona Board of Regents. This is the second, non-consecutive, term for retread DuVal, who was initially appointed by Janet Napolitano. His liberal bona fides are exactly what would be expected. During his previous tenure he was a reliable university tuition hike advocate. DuVal was previously an aide to Democrat Gov. Bruce Babbitt and worked as Bill Clinton’s White House Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs.

This is the enthusiastic welcome leftist DuVal received from the Board of Regents. Not to be outdone, Ducey heaped even more praise (via linked press release) on his former foe, then derided as an “arrogant Washington insider and career influence peddler.” It’s easy to be gracious after emerging victorious 53.4% to 41.6% but do you have to be foolish?  Are there no worthy Republicans to appoint to the Arizona Board of Regents?

DuVal is a darling of the educrats, whose gratitude for their taxpayer-funded raise was demonstrated by a colossal slap in the face to Arizona parents. With the support of the increasingly radical, Hillary-endorsing Arizona Republic newspaper, public school teachers led the vote against Prop. 305, which would have expanded eligibility for education empowerment scholarship accounts. The liberal educrats organized to deny parental choice in education. They also united to elect leftist Democrat Kathy Hoffman as Superintendent of Public Instruction. Her background? She was a preschool teacher for less than two years and a school speech therapist for five. Her sole qualification that mattered to them is a “D” after her name.

AZ voters got what they deserved for choosing the RINO. Should have primaried RINO Ducey and elected Bennett when they had the chance.

    • PC and State Committeeman says:

We tried hard to get er done but not with this Party of nitwits!

    • State Delegate says:

Many of us supported Ken Bennett’s challenge to Doug Ducey. The problem was he got into the race too late and chose to use public funding, which he was unable to qualify for in time. I sent him money and was disappointed in what appeared to be his lack of drive or commitment. Even his website was substandard. Bennett was well qualified for the job and should have done much better.

I was also disappointed that my $160 seed money wasn’t returned when his campaign tanked. He certainly didn’t use the contributions in any visible way.

      • terry dudas says:

I feel the same way about Kelli Ward’s recent so-called campaign.

      • Seeing Red AZ says:

        Terry,
There is no need to enter anything under “Website” on your comments. Just leave it blank.

Thank you for your readership and observations.

  2. PC and State Committeeman says:

Vote for a Rino and expect that knife in your back and to be sure the back room formerly smoke filled room has had some activity and Democrapic support for Ducey the Dem in sheep’s clothing made some rotten deals. Like McShame who lives on in his cabal, not a true Republican among them

  3. Rob Haney says:

I am reminded of the snake story: A beautiful liar to charm and manipulate you. Kindness to evil will be met by betrayal.

RINOs told us to keep electing McCain because he is a war hero and a conservative republican. Don’t pay any attention to him being a snake..

    • Saguaro Sam says:

What is the opposite of hero? Benedict Arnold on steroids.

Known to many in DC and other places as “Warhead”

Instead of oceanfront property in Arizona, there just might have been a munitions factory in Bulgaria. Poor LIndsey. Shut out at the end, now between a rock and the other place.

Believe me, President Trump knows the whole story. And that is why he refused to utter that name. Refers to him as “no name”.

  4. PC and State Committeeman says:

Right on Rob they just keep on keeping on voting for the snakes and expecting them not to do their venom filled bite to destroy us.

  5. PC and State Committeeman says:

most of it went to his campaign manager who did little for him

    • D.B. Cooper says:

Unbelievable! Robert Graham’s colossal ego is stunning. It wasn’t enough for him to guide the party into the depths, but his hand picked successor who lives in Yuma and is a no-show at Republican headquarters in Phoenix, finished the job.during the recent midterms with unprecedented election losses in what had been red AZ.

Now the wants Frank Thorwald, who is on his payroll, as Lines successor? This could be fodder for a ghost movie, as he inhabits the body of two others and continues his reign of terror on Conservatives, rather than Democrats!!

By the way, your link works well. It just delivers horrible news.

      • PC and State Committeeman says:

Sorry about the horrible news which is all we got in this state. Our state leadership is Democrap lite, I can’t think of any real Republican of worth in office as not a word, not ONE, from the Congressional delegation they are all just happy they are still employed. And what we got is a mess of blue and RINO purple.

Happy Turkey day folks political correct anti-patriotism even killed the NFL for our family.

  6. Attila The Hunny says:

The hard fact is, Doug Ducey is and was bonded at the hip to McCain and his operatives. He can’t be trusted to give more than lip service to conservative positions, and only when it benefits him.

We actually had no choice when it came to RINO McDucey or extremist Dem David Garcia. What we need to do is begin building a “bench” of well credentialed conservative challengers for upcoming races. Unfortunately, we can’t rely on the limp wristed, state party structure to do anything but stand by and watch our state turn blue. It’s imperative we elect new internal leadership.

    • D.B. Cooper says:

You voice what many of us know to be truth. Robert Graham and Jonathan Lines have been solidly in the establishment camp and have never represented conservatives.

As state GOP chairman Graham boycotted Trump’s local appearances when he was our presidential candidate. Graham must have choked as the General Election returns rolled in.

Both McCain and Flake publicly stated neither they nor their families would vote for Donald Trump, the Republican nominee.

Imagine that same vitriol coming from any democrat toward the nominee of their party. It would never happen.

      • PC and State Committeeman says:

So we all know how bad Robert Graham was and is. How about his pick to run for state chairman??? Thorwald???
        He works for Robert Graham:

sorry this didn’t come in as a link so you have to type it in but worth your while to see the connection

    The dirty game of politics.

Kind of like “Arsenic and Old Lace”.

Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, marks the day that President John F. Kennedy was taken from us. 55 years ago.

It wasn’t Cuba. Or Russia. Or arsenic (this time), but arsenic has been tried in the past.

He knew that the Clowns In America had amassed too much power and aligned themselves with foreign entities (old money families, and later, governments).

Remember what he said? He wanted to smash it into a thousand pieces and cast it to the wind. And very shortly after saying this, he was gone from us.

Since at least the early 1800’s, lots of bad actors actively working to destroy this country.

Notice how Frenchy Macron and his elderly missus like to put their hands all over our President and First Lady? Other things have replaced arsenic.

Two weeks ago, at the big meeting in Paris, at the very last minute, Macron made some changes to the seating arrangement at lunch.
Putin was to have been seated next to our President. Suddenly, a very nervous Frenchy, moved Putin next to him and away from President Trump. Lucky for US that Frenchy makes one very nervous puppet. Later that same day, a crazed woman was Allowed to break through a barricade and got within inches of our President’s vehicle. French police just stood there.

  8. Jig says:

Good story SRAZ! Someone should research and print a listing of AZ teacher and admins salaries and benefits and name names. People would not believe it in a state where many schools are open only 4 days a week and results are so poor.

And I am sure there are great teachers out there who deserve everything and more that they get….but you can bet they weren’t the ones out protesting.
