The harsh realities of Socialism

Venezuela takes a nosedive

The economic crisis in Venezuela has reached fever pitch as alarmed Venezuelans lined up to buy water and fuel on Sunday. The country has entered the fifth day of a nationwide blackout that has left scarce food rotting in shops, homes lacking water and cell phones without reception. Health care is imperiled as patients are dying in hospitals after back-up generators stopped functioning. Desperate Venezuelans, struggling to find food, are looting supermarkets during the blackouts, which have paralyzed the country.

Government authorities suspended school and business activities today providing no information on a possible time frame for resolving the dire situation, leaving the nation’s residents worried that the shutdowns could extend indefinitely.

Chaos reigns. The country’s massive power outage comes as President Nicolas Maduro faces an unprecedented political crisis and a hyperinflationary economic collapse. Opposition leader Juan Guaido invoked the constitution in January to assume the presidency after declaring Maduro’s 2018 re-election a fraud.

Venezuela is out of options. Prices are estimated to be rising at a rate of 3% every day, making the annual inflation rate more than 40,000%. An International Monetary Fund official warns the rate could reach 1,000,000% by the end of the year — one of the most disastrous episodes of hyperinflation in history.

Three-quarters of Venezuelans have lost an average of 24 pounds. Doctors report children dying of malnutrition. Malaria cases have spiked due to a collapse in treatment. Mass departures from the country have surged.

Possessing the world’s largest oil reserves is of no consequence as Venezuela suffers from a catastrophic economic downturn and alarming societal ills brought on by the failures of Socialism.

Yet the United States now has Socialists in congress. Millennials shamefully lacking in historical knowledge are increasingly supportive of both Socialism and Communism.

This Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) post lists what the group considers its 2018 election successes:

“A renewed working-class movement across this country gives us hope. Earlier this year, teachers in West Virginia went on a historic statewide strike, winning massive concessions and inspiring similar militant action in communities from Arizona and Oklahoma to Kentucky and Washington State. In every respect, 2018 marks the return of the strike and what looks to be the beginning of a new era of militant working-class resistance to corporate control of our society.”

It’s a blatant acknowledgement of leftist teachers unions involvement in crippling strikes that abandoned more than 840,000 Arizona students for over a week…..the same students they have systematically dumbed down. The correlation is undeniable.

Arizona has three DSA chapters. This is the post from the Phoenix-based group along with an invitation to “Join the Revolution.”

These under-educated nitwits would fit in perfectly:

Venezuela is a tragedy of epic proportions. It clearly illustrates the evils of Socialism, even in a country with the world’s greatest oil reserves.

About those depicted in this video…their parents are Republicans who educated themselves, worked hard to succeed and are paying for the radically far left indoctrination their kids are getting.

The kids bonding to Socialism is based in both rebellion and having a second rate “Liberal” arts education, but the consequences spell destruction for the future of United States. Most of these uninformed jerks are unemployable with limp degrees that don’t translate to actual jobs. They’ll end up back at the folk’s sleeping until 10am and playing video games. When Mom and Dad have finally had enough and kick them out, their dimpled darlings will be so angry, they’ll stop talking to them. Sadly, this is not an uncommon scenario.

  2. Braveheart says:

The shambles that Venezuela finds itself in is due to the previous leadership, all socialists. Hugo Chavez was the personification of evil. Ditto Nicolas Maduro who is now absurdly blaming the US for his country’s downfall.

Socialism destroys. The same is true of Mexico, Cuba and many other South and Central American countries all suffering economic upheaval. The people voted for these “leaders,” and now they are miserable and want to come to the US and replicate their disastrous choices here.

The only way these young students will ever learn about socialism is when they are out of school and out of the protected bubble they live in. Then they will see first hand what evil the teachings of Socialism will do to a country. By then, it may be too late.

I remember seeing bumper stickers several years ago that said, “If You can read this, thank a teacher.”

Someone could make a decent profit today by printing up bumper stickers that say, “If your kids are Socialists, thank their teachers.”

Thanks for the link to the Democratic Socialists of American (Phoenix Chapter) website. SRAZ readers need to see it so they know that this is an organized group that is committed to redistribution of wealth and an overarching government system that did so well for Europe and Latin America. These proponents ought to go live in Cuba for a while to see how much they would like the system.

This is from the DSA website:
“DSA rejects an economic order based on private profit, alienated labor, gross inequalities of wealth and power, discrimination, brutality and violence in defense of the status quo. DSA envisions a humane society based on popular control of resources and production, economic planning, equitable distribution, gender and racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships.”

If you sit on your ass all day you get the same amount the doctor who went to years of college, medical school, residency and internship did before he/she could practice medicine. That’s the same health care these morons want to be “free.”

Socialism imposes an “oppressive relationship” (which these snowflakes claim to oppose) on the people under it’s iron fist.

  5. Saguaro Sam says:

Wait until the brats have phones without cell service and cars but no gasoline (or alt fuel).

Venezuela, rich in oil, has been sent back to the stone age by one man who is a puppet for outside interests.
    It’s a C_A haven.
“Somebody” flew a hell of a lotta gold out of Ven a few weeks ago.

As with what is going on in France and Sweden, you do Not get to see what is really going on, because of the MSM in the US.
