There’s a lesson to be learned from Jeff Flake’s political nose-dive
Martha McSally, who served two terms in congress representing CD 2, was appointed to the U.S. Senate seat she currently occupies. The gubernatorial appointment followed her loss to Kyrsten Sinema, a foul-mouthed, self-declared bisexual and atheist with Communist leanings. Sinema creatively recrafted her image and was elected to replace anti-Trump Republicrat Jeff Flake whose 18% approval ratings were so low he opted against running for a second term. McSally was appointed to replace Sen. Jon Kyl, who briefly filled the second senate seat after the death of John McCain. Kyl resumed his far more lucrative D.C. lobbying gig.
Arizona’s political musical chairs require a scorecard.
Now McSally is facing the electorate again and can’t decide who her base is, as political novice and hardened leftwinger Mr. Gabreille Giffords, (Mark Kelly) launches a senate challenge.
This race should be a cakewalk. But rather than embarking on an aggressive campaign supporting Republican President Trump, McSally has decided to move into the political wilderness. She supports an investigation into the foolish story of whether the USS McCain, docked in Japan, was hidden from the president during his trip to Japan. McSally has also joined her Democrat 2020 rival Mark “Giffords” Kelly opposing the president’s calls for tariffs on Mexican imports if Mexico doesn’t stop aiding hundreds of thousands of Central American illegals invading the USA. The incrementally increasing tariffs, preceded by a warning, will only be imposed if Mexico chooses to continue facilitating the invasion.
As the first U.S. female fighter pilot to fly in combat and first to command a fighter combat squadron it should be assumed that McSally would not be reticent to wage a battle with Giffords/Kelly rather than playing the antagonist to the Republican President of the United States.
Keep up your foolishness, Martha, and not only will you not get the Democrat or registered Independent votes you seek, you will lose the Trump-supporting Republican base you need.
The leftist local newspaper has already begun hammering you. It’s a cinch it will endorse Mark “Giffords” Kelly. You need us. But we don’t come easy and you can’t take us for granted. It’s time to retool your campaign to garner our support. Otherwise, you’ll lose again and your next appointment will be to the political graveyard.
