AZ border hawks McSally, Schweikert now equivocators

Charade exposed as pre-election gambit

Almost a year ago to the day, we were treated to this political ad (shown below) featuring U.S. Reps. Martha McSally and David Schweikert — before McSally was appointed to the Senate following her stunning loss to radical leftist Kyrsten Sinema.  McSally and Schweikert were resolute border security supporters — when it benefited them.

Now they each appear to be throwing in with the anti-Trump Dems. McSally has morphed into opposing the president’s calls for tariffs on Mexican imports which will be implemented beginning June 10 contingent on Mexico’s halting its aid to massive hordes of Central American illegals invading the USA.  The incrementally increasing tariffs, preceded by a warning, will only be imposed if Mexico chooses to continue facilitating the invasion. Meandering McSally views tariffs as too harsh, as we noted in our weekend post,Memo to McSally: Thrashing Trump is key to failure.”

And Congressman Schweikert? He’s now singing an off-key, one note tune. Appearing on Friday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Cavuto: Coast to Coast,” Schweikert railed against President Trump’s tariff warning to Mexico and criticized the logic of “taxing” Americans to punish Mexico.

Schweikert said the tariff threat “doesn’t help” the prospect of passing the USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada-Agreement) “because it just creates more noise.” The USMC is the new NAFTA.

He repeated that while Mexico needs to secure its border, he doesn’t support “taxing” Americans. Schweikert, previously known as a numbers cruncher, misses the point that Americans are not taxed if they are not purchasing items from Mexico — which has enabled the illegal invasion, allowing hundreds of thousands of impoverished and uneducated Central Americans unimpeded passage to our border. As they caravan through Mexico, they purchase food and other necessities, aiding Mexico’s economy as they come to sap ours.

Schweikert concluded with a craven mixed message that if the threat is designed to get Mexico to take its border security responsibilities seriously, it’s a “powerful message,” but if it’s taxing Americans to punish Mexico, “I’m not sure that line of logic completely works.”

Mexican Economic Minister Graciela Marquez announced on Sunday she will meet with U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in Washington today. Mexico understands President Trump’s logic better than U.S. Rep. David Schweikert does.

For a memory refresher, this was McSally and Schweikert in campaign mode.

Congressman David Schweikert is, no doubt, aware that paying a few cents more for stuff In NO Way compares to the $$$$ paid by U.S. Taxpayers to FEED, CLOTHE, HOUSE, EDUCATE and Provide HEALTHCARE for the untold number who are here illegally.

    Hey, Martha and Dave:
How did these guys get here?

U.S. Border Patrol apprehended a large group of 116 illegal immigrants in the Del Rio Sector on Thursday who hailed from Cameroon, Congo, and Angola.

Didn’t know that the Africaners were marathon swimmers.

    Note to All:
Those in public office who do not support our President or who do not work to defend our Country against invaders are ALL compromised. Obama and his infamous “database”.

    And this:
Rumors about Paul Ryan taking over the reigns of the US Chamber of Comm(unists) from Donahue. Logistics.

Say what you want, the democrats do stick together. Our elected officials, while independent in thought, would rather join the opposition so they can bask in the glory of having grown while in office. Stand your ground and support the people who elected you and you are disparaged as being uneducated boobs. These two are well know for blowing in the wind.

McSally, on national television, stated she had been sexually assaulted by a commanding officer while in the USAF. When the USAF came to her to get the information so they could investigate the idea that one of their command officers was assaulting female personal, McSally refused to be interviewed. The USAF had to drop the investigation due to a lack of cooperation by McSally. (Yvone Sanchez, AZ Republic march 8,2019) Yet, three weeks later McSally held another national televised interview where she was investigation the sexual assault of US Forrest Service employees by their supervisors. Talk about two faced.

Let’s make sure we get a primary opponent for these two.

I watched Schweikert on Cavuto and nearly gagged. He repeatedly referred to “our Democrat friends” and “our Democrat brothers and sisters.” Sure haven’t heard those terms in reverse from “our friends” who are intent on impeaching Pres. Trump….because he isn’t Hillary! Schweikert has become a weak and wimpy waffler. As far as McSally, I’ve never trusted her.

  4. Realist says:

Their equivocation is easily explained. It’s green. Schweikert and McSally need campaign funds. Those megabucks come from the business community/Chamber of Commerce folks who put our national security behind their own interests and their desire for an endless flow of easily exploitable low wage labor.

Schweikert said the tariff threat “doesn’t help” the prospect of passing the USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada-Agreement) “because it just creates more noise.” The USMC is the new NAFTA. I had to pound my ears to dislodge what I thought was something interfering with my hearing. It was just “more noise” coming from Schweikert’s mouth.

  6. Tucson GOP says:

McSally better watch her step if she has any hope of staying in the Senate. Kyrsten Sinema beat her despite Sinema’s outrageous comments calling Arizona a “meth lab of democracy” and saying she didn’t care whether a guy interviewing her joined the Taliban. McSally needs to give conservative Republicans a reason to vote for her. So far, she’s missing the mark. Mr. Gabby Giffords, an Obama supporter, adheres to the Dem party Line. Repubs think they can garner votes by going against our Republican Pres. Donald Trump. That’s not going to win me or thhose I know over.

McSally better watch her step if she has any hope of staying in the Senate. Kyrsten Sinema beat her despite Sinema’s outrageous comments calling Arizona a “meth lab of democracy” and saying she didn’t care whether a guy interviewing her joined the Taliban. Sinema has been sending out campaign fundraising solicitations telling Democrats they need to elect someone who “shares our values.” Sinema means Mr. Gabby Giffords. McSally needs to give conservative Republicans a reason to vote for her rather than sit on their hands. So far, she’s missing the mark. Mr. Gabby Giffords, an Obama supporter, adheres to the Dem party line. Say something to generate support, Martha, or Arizona will have two far left Dems in the U.S. Senate.

PRIMARY MARTHA with Zundi Yassar. He is smart and is on PDJT’s agenda. Sweikert & McSally are “never Trumper” party of Davos globalists. Neither one of ’em worth voting for. Please Zundi step up – your country needs you again.

  9. Saguaro Sam says:

    Heads Up!

House of Representatives will vote to give no-strings amnesty to 4 million illegal aliens as early as tomorrow. Bill is H.R. 6. CBO says it’ll cost taxpayers $34 billion.

  10. Fed Up says:

Why do Republicans have this uncontrollable urge to veer left when Dems never veer right? It supersedes pure politics and is evident on the U.S. Supreme Court. John Roberts was a shameful example when he read something into Obamacare that wasn’t even there. as called a tax a “fee.”

  11. Secure Americas Borders Now says:

Time for Schwiekert to be called SchwiekOUT and McSully who rather join the ‘Me too’ gals and ignore the rapes of the illegals from girls 10 years and up out as well.
She never supported POTUS in closing our border.
The latest bad news over a hundred from the Congo have invaded our border with possible Ebola posing yet another danger to US citizens.
