Ducey bypasses GOP applicants, picks another Dem judge

Hands out judicial appointments to Democrats as though there were no Republicans on the vetted lists he receives from judicial selection commissions

With this hyperbolic announcement Gov. Doug Ducey, who twice ran as a Republican, boldly shows his leftist stripes by appointing yet another Democrat to the judicial bench. Superior Court Judge David Gass has been elevated to the Arizona Court of Appeals.

Among the accolades Ducey heaped on his new appointee was pointing out that he “served as counsel to the Democratic Caucus of the Arizona House of Representatives and currently serves on the Maricopa County Superior Court where he has been for the past 10 years after his appointment by Governor Napolitano.” Ducey didn’t miss a trick, adding that earlier in his career, Gass “clerked for then Arizona Court of Appeals Judge Ruth McGregor,“ another Democrat.

Those are definitely credentials that warm the cockles of the Republican base, whose votes put him in office, first as state treasurer and then for two terms in the lofty ninth floor governor‘s office.

The gaseous Gass appointment was made to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Justice James P. Beene to the Arizona Supreme Court. Currently, Ducey has far outpaced hyper-partisan Democrat Gov. Janet Napolitano who also had an aversion to Republican judges, as SRAZ pointed out in 2007. So far during his terms, Ducey has made 26 cross-party judicial appointments — far outpacing his predecessors — leftist Napolitano at 16 or Republican Jan Brewer who jumped the political fence 7 times.

On the governor’s office home page is a box containing these words:

Don’t kid yourself thinking the Guv actually wants to hear from you. He’s obviously still busy channeling his RINO McMentor. Ducey’s first job when he arrived in Arizona to attend ASU was working at Cindy Hensley McCain’s Anheuser-Busch beer distributorship empire, which fostered a enduring friendship between Ducey, later including his wife, and the McCain’s. John McCain reveled in his “maverick” status, even bucking the Republican Party with his thumb-in-the-eye, “thumb’s down” final senate vote. (brief video.)  Ducey was an able pupil.

Should have elected Bennett when we had the chance!

Ducey should be ashamed. The court to which he appointed David Gass is not a lower court, but the second highest in the state next to the Supreme Court. The Court of Appeals wields immense power. Democrats don’t appoint Republicans to either of these courts, but Republicrat governors do their job for them when Dems are out of office. Jane Hull a RINO former legislator and then Secretary of State who became governor when Fife Symington was forced out, put her old friend Democrat Ruth McGregor on the AZ Supreme Court, in a move that was unheard of nationally. Merit Selection is a farce. Actual merit takes a backseat to collusion, gender and ethnicity. In this case I’ll throw in the fact that Ducey wants to balance his recent contentious appointment of Bill Montgomery to the Supreme Court.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence at all that Ducey appointed the weakest R candidate he could find to fill McCain’s Senate seat. After all, the seat is up for election again in 2022, the same year Ducey’s 2nd term is up.

  3. Tempe PC says:

YUP the weakest and strongest McCainiac McSally will never win and McCarthy even tho lacking any experience would be a slightly better choice as we seldom have good choices so we are screwed and will have Demoncrap Kelly go after our guns and implement all the rest of the liberal agenda as would McSally who is lying about supporting Trump and someone with access to POTUS should warn him. Unfortunately his advisers have not served him well on many occasions.

    • Trevor says:

McCarthy has no chance at beating her, this isn’t running against Jeff Flake.

      • Dedicated Trump Supporter says:

The only thing Daniel McCarthy’s colossal-ego based campaign will accomplish is forcing Sen. McSally into an expensive primary that will leave her vulnerable to the Soros funded bald spaceman in the general election..

McCarthy should be vilified for this, but instead he has assembled a small cadre of senior citizens who claim to be Trump supporters, but have ignored the fact that Pres. Trump has endorsed Sen. Martha McSally. These fools have embarked on a dangerous course following an inexperienced wannabe.

McCarthy is an unverified novice in his early 30’s with a high school diploma as credentials. If he wants to run for something it shouldn’t be the senate under these circumstances. If he actually supports the president, he should endorse the president’s choice. I’d venture to say Pres.Trump and Sen. McSally have a better insight to what’s going on in DC, the country and globally, than Daniel McCarthy.

Martha McSally has served two terms in the House of Representatives and is now in the US Senate. I join President Trump in giving her my wholehearted support.

Does anyone believe that these politicians care about what We, the People think, or want, or need?

As President Trump has said many times, ‘it’s not me they’re coming for, it’s you. I’m just in their way. . . .’

Arizona will likely Never be Free of the McStain.

If you are wondering why Mitt Romney has been activated to be the Second Coming of McStain, follow this down the rabbit hole.

Romney. Bain Capital (remember?) was, years ago in very bad need of an infusion of cash, lots of it. Who provided it?
Robert Maxwell, once a member of Parliament, once owner of a major newspaper in Britain, and always a agent of a foreign intel agency. (ask Bibi)
It is not far-fetched to say that he was a double agent.
That dumpy, unassuming looking, pasty-faced guy.
He ripped off the pension fund from his newspaper employees to the tune of billions.
He allegedly had a heart attack on board his yacht while in international waters. Those darn heart attacks.
His daughter, Ghislaine Maxwell, became Jeffrey Epstein’s handler.
Epstein, the Clintons, major Ivy League endowment funds, human trafficking, illicit drugs, foundations and institutes and initiatives.
Add a dash of China and you’ve got big trouble.

So Romney owes people bigly. People who are Not Nice.
People who give other people heart attacks. Or provide them with a door knob and a red scarf or a door knob and the belt from a comfy terry cloth robe.

Romney, like McCain, has to have a crew. A tag team.
This time around it’s Mike Lee and Susan Collins.
Susan Collins likely assigned as per Lindsey’s instructions.
He’s on a very short leash these days, that LG.

Why would Ducey think this appointment of a dedicated Democrat to the Court of Appeals made any sense? He ran and was elected as a Republican which is why many of us voted for him.

Gass is not simply registered with the opposition party. He worked in its vineyards aiding in promulgating radically liberal laws. Ducey appears to think those are grand credentials, hyping them in his press release.
