Rush Limbaugh announces “advanced lung cancer”diagnosis

Republicans became conservatives under the guidance of talk radio host Rush Limbaugh. He taught us to articulate what we felt but previously had no name for. Rush, 69, has been the masterful instruction manual we tuned on each weekday for over three decades, hearing news presented and analyzed in a way we had never before heard, but eagerly grasped. We bought, read and re-read his best-selling books.

The sadness at hearing of his diagnosis has shaken many of us to our core. Our prayers are with him and his family, as we ask God’s blessings on his doctors.

This is Rush’s personal statement to his loyal audience.

  1. Arizona Conservative Guy says:

Rush Limbaugh paved the way for other national conservative commentators, but his style and depth of knowledge surpasses them all….even the best among them. He’s a one of a kind. This is sad news, indeed.

  2. Frankly Speaking says:

I notice SRAZ refers to Rush Limbaugh simply as Rush, as though you have been personal friends. This is not a negative observation. It just points out how we all regard him as someone who has touched our lives. We may never have met him, but his impact has been profound.

  3. Clementine says:

Rush Limbaugh has stated he has deep faith. So, I believe, do many of us who gather on this site. I suggest we all commit to prayer for Rush.

  4. Tucson GOP says:

I began listening to Rush not long after he first began his national broadcast. I credit him with introducing me to the world of politics. There is no way to fully express my gratitude for the enlightenment he provided.

  5. Maggie says:

Rush Limbaugh should never be mistaken for an entertainer. He is a stellar teacher, with millions of eager pupils.

    • State Committeeman says:

Agreed! And unlike the Arizona teachers who went out on strike leaving their students high and dry for nearly two weeks, Rush is hoping to continue his program as medical treatments allow, I credit him with educating me.

  6. hoi polloi boy says:

Rush was the first to pull the curtain off the biased media that was pretending to be “fair and balanced” and gave rise to alternative forms of media we see today. For this we thank him, everyday.

  7. Annie O. says:

In his favor, probably the majority of his faithful audience believe in God and prayer, and will be storming Heaven on his behalf.

  8. Marianne says:

Rush Limbaugh spoke of his “formerly nicotine stained fingers.” Unfortunately, the damage doesn’t go away when the smoker stops the smelly and expensive habit. I’m such a fan of his and I wish him all the best.

Smoking, whether cigarettes, marijuana or the flavored e-cigarettes manufactured to appeal to young smokers, all have devastating effects on lungs and general health, besides prematurely aging skin and causing “smoker’s mouth” lines that never go away even if the smoker stops. My younger sister smoked for a number of years. I never did. She looks like the older sister today.
