Ignoring the fact that Arizona’s incumbent Republican U.S. Senator, Martha McSally, a former two-term member of congress — who has the unequivocal support of Pres. Donald Trump — is running for reelection, unqualified candidate Daniel McCarthy claims he can’t wait to get beyond the primary so he can debate Mark Kelly on his China connections.
McCarthy’s own company is run out of China, which he told the Channel 12 Sunday Square Off interviewer was “Irrelevant.” He actually claimed, “My business has nothing to do with me running for the Senate.”
Decades ago Walt Disney Studios produced the Pinocchio fantasy starring a wooden puppet whose nose grew with each lie he told. The production featured the song, “When You Wish Upon a Star.” Daniel McCarthy should incorporate it as his campaign theme.
McCarthy, who campaigns under the boastful handle, “Demand Daniel,” obviously wishes to be competitive in this race but falls far short. The Federal Election Commission shows him with a paltry $11,797.95 cash on hand, still on the books from his initial self-funding infusion of $236,592.42 and a few scant donations. Lacking televised ads and common sense, he shelled out a bundle for his campaign bus featuring full color wrap-around images of himself.
SRAZ has written about McCarthy numerous times. These are a few columns:
