Law Enforcement Today features a multi-faceted report about the two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies who were each shot multiple times in the head while sitting in their patrol car in Compton Saturday night.
Both deputies required surgeries and are in critical condition. One is identified as a 24-year-old male, the other, a 31-year-old female, who is the mother of a 6-year-old boy. They had each been members of the department for only 14 months, graduating the sheriff’s training academy together.
We take our readers directly to the Law Enforcement Today site, since it features video footage of the unprovoked shooting and a challenge issued by LA Sheriff Alex Villanueva to NBA Lakers celeb Lebron James to match the $175,000 privately raised reward money for information leading to the gunman who ambushed the two deputies. Lebron James 2020 yearly salary is $37.44 million.
James previously said, “I know people get tired of hearing me say it, but we are scared as black people in America, black men, black women, black kids, we are terrified.”
In earlier tweets James wrote: “And y’all wonder why we say what we say about the Police!! Someone please tell me WTF is this???!!! Exactly another black man being targeted. This s—t is so wrong and so sad!! Feel so sorry for him, his family and OUR PEOPLE!! We want JUSTICE.”
James missed the point. The rest of us want justice, too. The shooter is still at large. Adding fuel to the vicious assault, when violent mobs heard that the officers were being taken to Lynwood hospital, they blocked both the emergency entrances and exits shouting, “We hope they die!”
Loquacious Lebron James suddenly became mute when that news was released.
