AZ GOP State Sen. Paul Boyer surrenders to Dems

Political contortionist lacks core beliefs

It’s not everyday we see a career politician wave a white flag at the opposing party, (video seen below) but that’s what took place Monday at the Arizona State Senate. At issue is a declaration holding the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in contempt for failure to adhere to a subpoena challenging the November presidential election results in which irregularities were witnessed with the problematic Dominion voting machines. Maricopa County GOP chair Rae Chornenky resigned in the wake of failing to certify the voting machines. Arizonans were not alone in their distrust. Following the election, Rasmussen Reports polling cited 47% who thought fraud was likely.

Paul Boyer was the lone Republican among 16 who voted against holding the AZ Board of Supervisors accountable. His bizarre quote is, “Make no mistake today’s vote merely provides a little bit more time to work together charitably and actively as friends.”

If Boyer thinks Republicans have democrat colleagues with whom he can he rely on as “charitable friends,” he must believe in the tooth fairy.

Although his photo, committee assignments and office phone number are shown on the senate website, there is no biographical information for Boyer, who is termed out in two years. You might want to call his office and express your dissatisfaction with his foolish vote that frustrated Senate President Karen Fann and bewildered Republicans.

The brief text of SR1005 can be read here. No doubt Boyer’s angling for a much more lucrative future lobbying gig. State legislators are paid $24,000 a year and haven’t had a pay increase since 2000. For mental midgets such as Boyer caving to his democrat “friends,” even that paltry sum is too much.

  1. Arizona Conservative Guy says:

I have long supported a decent pay increase for our state legislators.

In the case of state Sen. Paul Boyer, we got what we paid for! What a showboating jerk!

  2. Realist says:

The more I learn, the more I see the need to remove and replace the Maricopa County Supervisors. We can do better. Have you ever tried calling one of them? They are rarely in their offices and when I left a message for “my” supervisor, I never had the courtesy of a return call, although I am not a stranger to him. Arrogance is not a virtue.

  3. Kent says:

Paul Boyer is an embarrassment and deserves to be kicked to the political curb. Too bad the LD 20 Republicans he supposedly represents won’t get the opportunity to do that since he’s term limited.

  4. MAGA Hat Man says:

GOP state senators sponsored Senate Resolution 1005 to declare the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in contempt for failure to adhere to a subpoena. I doubt it has any teeth, but it should serve as an alert that the reliable voters who put them in office will not be so reliable anymore. They all need to face conservative challengers.

  5. StetsonXXX says:

Had to take a break from watching the dims viciously assaulting President Trump as they attempt to contrive reasons for impeaching an out of office president.

    As to Paul Boyer:
What a fool! Paul Boyer is the poster boy for incompetence. Boyer should be facing impeachment…NOT President Trump.
I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Boyer voted for Biden.

    • D.B. Cooper says:

Boyer’s alignments with the dems will take him down the same losing path as former state legislators Heather Carter and Kate “Brophy” McGee. They were both tossed out by fed up Republicans.

  6. toughterry says:

Conservative challengers must be developed now, not in a few months. I have just become aware that Andy Biggs – AZ6 and David Schweikert AZ6, were both involved with The Leadership Institute, and must have learned winning campaign techniques there. The Institutes’ training for young people is invaluable in inculcating conservative principles and later, political success. Among other graduates of the Institute are Dan Crenshaw – TX and Jim Jordan, OH. The Institute provides practical training in getting out the vote both for conservative students as well as adults. A worthwhile organization to support financially, which I do now.

    • Jake sez says:

Just keep in mind that Rep. Jim Jordan’s largest contributor is AMAZON. He states that he will take their money but not their orders. Hope that is true.

  7. Trevor says:

I hope Paul is proud of his 30 pieces of silver by doing this sell out move. Like when Russell Pearce tried to shove Rodney Glassman down our throats and look what happened…Russell is out of a job!

  8. Lisa the Infidel says:

I tried to call his office yesterday ..voicemail full
I sent email about his greed without representing Arizona
    And told him
    TINVOWOOT

Check out Stand-up4America and see what we’re doing in GV Rep. Club. The Republican Alliance is for teaching people how to win conversations with I’s, some D’s and ignorant R’s CLEAN HOUSE FROM THE BOTTOM UP. Also Dan Schultz with precinct project. It’ll take all of us to drain the RINO’s. Get to work

  10. Long Memory says:

Republicans are symbolized by the elephant known for its long memory. Many of us vividly remember Paul Boyer endorsing then-Gov. Jan Brewer’s medicaid expansion scheme, before he heard the loud clamor and switched his view on what was then called “OBrewercare”…because of it’s similarities to Obamacare.
