Mob rule cancels law enforcement as facts are ignored

A tragic error has devolved into a police officer becoming the easy sacrifice to quell rioting mobs

Kim Potter, a 26-year veteran Brooklyn Center, Minnesota — now former police officer — was formally charged with second degree manslaughter Wednesday, after making a deadly error and pulling her service revolver instead of the taser she was reaching for. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

Body cam footage shows she repeatedly warned 20-year-old Daunte Wright, who was attempting to flee, “I’ll tase you! I’ll tase you! Taser! Taser! Taser!” To propel the legal lynching of Officer Potter, a married mother and career officer, mobs have so far rioted and looted over four days.

Though Wright is being portrayed as an innocent, police attempted to arrest him over an open felony warrant that stemmed from this aggravated robbery charge* in which he was accused of choking and threatening to shoot a woman if she did not give him her money.

The Daily Wire reports that U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) responded to the shooting by claiming on Twitter, without evidence, that the shooting “wasn’t an accident.”

“It wasn’t an accident,” Tlaib, the daughter of Palestinian immigrants stated. “Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder. No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can’t be reformed.”

You read that right. A member of the U.S. Congress, a democrat, of course, whose parents presumably came here to embrace our liberty-based existence and ensure a better life for their family, has boldly stated that she not only desires to defund the police, she wants to obliterate them, along with  jails, prisons and whatever falls into her concept of “militarization.”

Rashida Tlaib is not alone. Far-left extremist U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) shared Talib’s views on Twitter.

Here we go again. Rioters and thieves use whatever excuse they can muster to condone their criminal acts. But let’s not forget that Daunte Wright was a 20 year old, wanted felon, who fathered a child as a teenager and likely hasn‘t paid child support since we‘ve never heard he was employed. He was no more a sterling character than George Floyd, a drug addict with a long rap sheet who had been in prison on numerous occasions and was passing a counterfeit $20 bill, which is why the police were called. Both of them were resisting arrest. Color isn’t the issue. Criminality and lack of moral character is.

The Police Chief and Officer Potter should never have resigned. This case should have been allowed to play out. Fear of retribution is running rampant and weakening legitimate law enforcement. My Dad was a police officer and we couldn’t have been more proud of him.

  3. Frankly Speaking says:

George Floyd’s family was given $millions by the Minneapolis City Council and have collected millions more on a “Go Fund Me” page. Daunte Demetrius Wright’s family will also cash in, which would never happen if he was not black. He’d just be another criminal, not a mega money source.

The more you give into people like these the more they will demand and expect.
