Bipartisan Dream Act? Jeff Flake, Harry Reid are both onboard this nightmare

Liberal Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has announced he will add the DREAM Act, an amnesty measure benefiting illegal aliens, to an important defense policy bill the Senate will take up next week. The nightmarish DREAM is an acronym for Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act. The intent of the legislation if to provide college scholarships to children of illegal aliens, brought into the United States by their parents and meeting certain criteria.

This means the defense bill, which should be the recipient of bipartisan support, will be held hostage with two major partisan issues, since the repeal of the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy will also be an add-on. Reid, in the fight of his political career, is hoping to establish support with the Hispanic and homosexual communities. Reid called the DREAM Act “really important,” saying it should be passed because it provides a path to citizenship for young illegal immigrants.

This legislation rewards lawbreaking and encourages more illegal entrants while draining resources at local schools and filling spots at state universities and colleges that should rightfully go to citizen students. And in this difficult economy, it will ensure fewer jobs for American workers.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell called Reid’s decision “needlessly controversial.”

Arizona U.S. Rep. Jeff Flake (R-CD 6), who talks a good game of conservatism in his home district, has repeatedly partnered with “far-left Democrat” Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Illinois) on massive giveaways to illegals while 3,000 miles away in the halls of Congress. There he works on behalf of the costliest of measures — pushing the “Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy Act” or STRIVE Act, granting tuition and other benefits, while extending amnesty for illegal aliens living in our country. STRIVE and the nightmarish DREAM Act were applauded by the racist La Raza a group whose motto is “For The Race everything. Outside The Race, nothing.”

In this stunning article The Numbers Are On Our Side, written by Gutierrez he specifically commends his colleague Flake for joining with “progressives” (replacing the tainted term ‘Liberal’) in helping to “turn red states blue.”  (Fourth paragraph from the bottom).

  1. Realist says:

Jeff Flake is a NIGHTMARE and not worthy of any more commentary on my part.

  2. TeaPartyPatriot says:

You Tube has several videos of our beloved rino AMNESTY-JOHN and his support for DREAM (aka, the NIGHTMARE OF AMNESTY), which will ENCOURAGE even more illegal immigration by providing the carrot of eventual AMNESTY by the lunatic-left d-crat socialists and their rino stooges.

  3. Jay Bird says:

Realist and T-Party Patriot have called it right! American citizens are in for a rough ride with these traitors at our helm. How much more can we stress the importance of elections? But Flake and McCain keep getting reelected when we have fine patriots opposing them. People are lazy and vote for familiar names. We call a 30 percent vote a wonderful turnout meaning a few are deciding for the majority.

  4. Kathy says:

Any bet McCain & Kyl are on board as well??!! Wake up AZ McCain & Kyl were for amnesty in 2008 & nothing has changed!!!!!

  5. MaskedTruthman says:

When I think of McCain and McFlake, term limits come to mind.

  6. Schedule Diva says:

This is why you need to write in JD Hayworth for Senate on your November ballot.

  7. Doc says:

If you take a desert scorpion, on pavement or concrete, & squirt a ring of lighter fluid around it & light it, the scorpion will try to escape. If it can not, it will sting itself to death…the only other species on earth besides US that will kill purposely itself. Is this Harry Reid’s attempt at imitating a scorpion with this amnesty boolsheet?

As to McCain, again Realist nailz it…

  8. Luke says:

What an interesting duo. Rep. Flake and Sen. Reid. Both LDS. The Mormon church is doing major recruitment and proselytizing of Hispanics, making absolutely no distinction between legal or illegal. In fact, the Hispanic recruitment has paid off with the largest numbers of new converts being Spanish speakers. State legislator Adam Driggs fits in the mix as a immigration lawyer who also speaks Spanish. Bet the majority of his clients aren’t from France and England.

  9. newswatch says:

Reason Mag, Insty, and other libertarian types including others inside the Beltway are big fans of Flake. And, those same groups are also pushing the teaparties. What that means is that if you’re a ‘partier, some of those you think of as friends aren’t. And, it’s because of things like that that I realize that the ‘partiers aren’t on my side: they’re either in on the game, or they’re dumb enough to follow the bad guys.

  10. sherriaz says:

Now we have the Dream Act rearing its ugly head thanks to Harry Reid. Those who voted for McStain, betting that he had really “seen the light” are in for their first disappointment of his new 6 year term as he backs this nightmare. Get used to it: it will be the first of many.

And a big thanks for nothing to the Tea Partiers around the state. The refusal of the Tea Party to endorse J.D. helped re-elect McStain. Elsewhere around the country, Tea Partiers made a real difference and helped to elect true conservatives. Now we’ll have McStain backing the Dream Act because he feels he as a mandate from the people. Sheesh.

  11. Night Owl says:

Sherri is so right about the disappointing Tea Partiers here in our state. We had the rare opportunity of ridding ourselves of the Great Deceiver with the exceptional candidacy of former Congressman JD Hayworth. But these fools decided that an endorsement would taint the process and now we are stuck for SIX MORE YEARS with a pathological liar representing us in the US Senate. Good job, TPers!! Ditto Sarah Palin who came here to promote McCain. The same McCain who insulted her and allowed his staff and chunky, tattooed daughter to do the same. Time for her to go back to Alaska and check in on her young family. She hasn’t seen them in so long they might not remember her.

  12. telemoonfa says:

Don’t blame me. I voted for Jeff Smith.

  13. McCain is not getting my vote says:

We also had a great candidate in Jeff Smith, but he was turned away for Flake. Flake has been my Congressman since I moved to CD 6, I voted for him once, and never again. Flake did not even show up to cast a no vote for Cap and Trade, don’t you people remember how mad you were when he gave you the lying excuse he was at a function for his daugher? I guess not. Arizona you people are down right shall I say it, stupid, you re-elected McCain and Flake the two biggest RINO’s in the House and Senate.

  14. chick says:

I agree with Luke. This has to do with his religion first. I voted for the other guy.
