US Supreme Court lobs a major blow at ObamaCare

June 30, 2014

Today’s 5 – 4 U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down ObamaCare’s employer paid contraception and abortificides —- abortion inducing drug  —– mandate is a decisive victory for religious freedom.  Barack Obama’s efforts at the socialization of American health care has suffered a major setback.

This decision is even a more significant triumph since it is the first time that the high court has ruled that for-profit businesses can hold religious views under federal law.

On June 28, 2012, Chief Justice John Roberts stunned conservatives by joining with the liberal Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor—– as he shockingly cast the deciding vote upholding the ‘Affordable Care Act,’ which Obama viewed as his signature domestic achievement. The flagrant and massive federal overreach into American’s personal health care decisions is widely known as ObamaCare. Here is a montage of Obama’s repeated lies.*

In today’s decision, Justice Samuel Alito wrote the majority opinion. Justice Anthony Kennedy, often a swing vote, voted with the majority. The court’s four liberal justices hung tight, with Ginsburg writing the dissent.

The decision in Burwell, Secretary of Health and Human Services, et al v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., (joined by Conestoga Wood Specialties Corp.) can be read here in its entirety.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio: Send troops to the border

June 30, 2014

“….at least I know where the border is!”

Sunday’s Drudge Report headlines our own Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s call for Barack Obama to deploy the U.S. military to the Mexican border to work bilaterally in controlling the flood of illegal aliens crossing into the United States.

Listen (click on audio bar at 10:54) to hear Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio as he is interviewed by Aaron Klein Investigative Radio on The Answer, 970 AM New York — transmitted across the globe from Tel Aviv.

Arpaio says, “If we are worried about the danger, then I would send the military across the border, work with their military bilaterally and get the job done. That’s what I would do and we’d clean up this mess.”

Our no-nonsense sheriff, renown for his tough stance on illegal immigration, was asked how he would help clean up the immigration mess if he were advising the White House. He responded unequivocally, “Why do they have to go to court? The minute they cross the border, put them on an airplane and send them back.”

“I spent many, many years as a regional director in Mexico City, Central, and South America, also I was the head of the DEA in Texas and Arizona.” Arpaio added, “ So at least I know where the border is!”

I would go back to what I did in Mexico. We were operational. We let agents carry guns. We worked right along with the Mexican authorities, locking up drug peddlers….worked together and got things done.

Arpaio noted that 38 percent of illegal-alien inmates in his Maricopa County jails who are turned over to federal authorities for violating immigration law return “over and over again on various criminal charges, which violates their [the fed’s] own policy and criteria that they are supposed to be deported.”

“Either they [convicted illegal alien felons] are coming across that border multiple times or they are being dumped on the streets of Arizona,” he said.

WND also carries the linked broadcast.

An exasperated Arpaio, referring to the deluge of unaccompanied minors flooding across the southern border, recently told Fox News’ Sean Hannity, “You talk about the Border Patrol, they’re too busy changing diapers and not going after dope peddlers and illegal immigrants.”

Border Patrol agents are allegedly being told that if they speak out about the situation, they will be disciplined or charged with a crime.

Powerful response to ‘peaceful Muslims’ rates standing ovation

June 29, 2014

In carnage around the world……“the peaceful majority were irrelevant”

Our thanks to WND for posting Brigitte Gabriel’s powerful response to a Muslim woman who attended a Heritage Foundation forum on Benghazi. The woman claimed Muslims are portrayed badly. Gabriel’s answer, complete with potent facts and figures, provides one of the best answers ever given to the constant harangue of ” the majority of Muslins are peaceful.”  Although Ms. Gabriel agrees, she also cites previous historical carnage perpetrated at the hands of Germany, Russia, China, Japan, and the events on September 11, 2001. In each case she concludes, “the peaceful majority were irrelevant”

This enlightening video clip is definitely worth your time.

Nancy Pelosi: Illegal invasion is “an opportunity”

June 28, 2014

Grandma of 9 wishes she could take all the bright-eyed children home with her

In a stunning example of radically liberal thinking, far-left party hack Nancy Pelosi —- speaking Saturday at a press conference at a temporary border holding facility —- has declared the unchecked invasion of the United States is merely an “opportunity, not a crisis.“  Essentially declaring American sovereignty irrelevant, Pelosi stated, “This is a community, with a border going through it.”

Adding more of  her own peculiar brand of hypocrisy, she wished aloud that she could take the thousands of children flooding over our southern border, “home with her.”

No one is stopping her.

Money certainly wouldn’t be an issue. Pelosi’s number 15 on Roll Call’s list of wealthiest members of Congress, with a minimum net worth of $24.45 million.

Using her soft-toned Harry Reid voice, California Democrat Pelosi preferred to characterize this cataclysmic invasion, of our nation not  as a crisis, but as a “opportunity.”

According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, in the past fiscal year more than 52,000 unaccompanied minors have crossed the border into the United States through Mexico. Although many are Mexican nationals, the majority in this recent flood are Central Americans, arriving from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

Take a look at this updated list of Border Patrol numbers as of June 15, 2014.

ALL U.S. job gains since 2000 to immigrants, not citizens

June 27, 2014

Number of U.S.-born not working grew by 17 million

If you’re among those who  think foreign workers and work visas are needed?  Think again —- this time armed with hard facts.  The Washington Times runs a report based upon a study that  challenges the need for importation of foreign workers. Read “ALL of the net jobs gains in the U.S. since 2000 have gone to immigrants,” by Stephen Dinan.

Since 2000, all of the net jobs added by the U.S. economy have gone to immigrants, both legal and illegal, according to a report being released Friday by the respected  Center for Immigration Studies that challenges prevailing thought that the country needs an influx of workers.

Nearly 6 million more people are working in the U.S. now than in 2000, but the number of native-born Americans holding jobs has declined slightly, from 114.8 million to 114.7 million, according to census figures crunched by CIS. Instead, all of that job growth — a total of 5.7 million –— has gone to immigrants.

Some of the native-born are unemployed, but a huge number have been chased from the workforce altogether, in part because of competition from immigrants, states Steven A. Camarota, research director for CIS and lead author of the report.

The crucial, fact-filled Center for Immigration Studies report can be read here

And in the face of this distressing news, CBS News Las Vegas reports that Border Patrol agents in Arizona were reportedly fired upon by a Mexican military helicopter that traveled across the border into Arizona.

Still the outrageous demands from America’s emboldened invaders and their supporters, continue. Breitbart’s Tony Lee reports that amnesty advocates stormed Congress today and arrogantly dared Congressional representatives, particularly Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), to take away their Deferred Action status.

We are at war, and it isn’t in the Middle East. Our country’s future is at stake. Arm yourself with information. Check out this 2014 Congressional Research Service report which provides an accounting of all publicly acknowledged deployments of U.S. Military Forces.

AZ Republic uses dead dogs to bash Arpaio, give pass to Flake & Update

June 27, 2014

Animal cruelty linked to Sen. Jeff Flake’s son and his wife

By now most Arizona residents know about the tragedy of the heat induced deaths suffered by 23 dogs in an East Valley home-based kennel.

In death, the beloved pets have morphed into PETA approved, politically correct, “companion animals” in the daily’s editorial.

As authentic pet lover Sheriff Joe Arpaio investigates this horrific abuse case, the outlandish newspaper editorial uses this as an opportunity to slam the conservative they love to hate, with these words, ”But Maricopa County’s flamboyant sheriff needs to focus on the facts, not the drama.”

Todd Hughes the owner of the boarding facility, has been a bad actor throughout this despicable saga, lying about the number of dogs involved and claiming they merely ran away.  No professional veterinarians were called to help. Instead, dying dogs were heartlessly hosed down in a crude attempt to cool them.

Nearly two dozen dogs were housed in a ten-by-ten laundry room.

But readers had to get to the twelfth paragraph in the seventeen paragraph editorial to find out that Hughes and his wife were out of town when the deaths occurred. The animals were being cared for by their daughter Logan and her husband, Austin Flake, the son of U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake. “This high-profile connection should not matter,” the editorial opines, “but it will raise public interest and attract enhanced scrutiny. Such are the wages of politics.”

And the newspaper’s sarcasm-laced references to the Sheriff? Obviously they are also simply the wages of politics — hate-filled, left wing politics —- the type the Arizona Republic has turned into an art form.

These MCSO press releases contain the facts, the newspaper claims to want:

June 23, 2014Sheriff Arpaio Promises Full Investigation into Deaths of 20 Dogs in Gilbert, AZ Boarding Facility —  — “No stone will go unturned”

June 26, 2014:  Sheriff Arpaio Orders Mounted Posse to Assist in Search for Missing Dog from Gilbert Boarding Facility . . . Launches Helicopter to Aid in Ground Search Sheriff to Attend Saturday Vigil for Deceased Dogs

Although the newspaper will surely disapprove, we’ll share more Flake family values in this post, Generational Flakes, from one year ago regarding Tanner, another of Jeff Flake’s sons. In this case, Papa Flake rushed to the rescue, apologizing for his son‘s online spew of vile racist, anti-Semitic, and homosexual slurs. Tanner was nowhere to be found.

Will Sen. Jeff Flake now be moved to issue an apology to the grieving families for the slipshod care that resulted in the deaths of their beloved pets?

Update-tag

Thursday, July 24, 2014:

Dead rabbits found at Gilbert kennel where 23 dogs died

Two rabbits, who did not receive sufficient water on the hottest day of the year, have died at the Green Acre pet boarding facility in Gilbert. Temperatures reached 116 degrees.

This is the same kennel where nearly two dozen dogs died last month. After necropsies were performed on the some of the animals, the veterinarian concluded the cause of death was likely suffocation. There was no evidence that the dogs had chewed through air conditioner wires as the owners claimed. The dogs were crammed into a small, insufficiently cooled  room, where they died.

“According to court documents, two people related to the property owners were in charge of the animals while the kennel operators were out of town.”

The Arizona Republic used these words to conceal the fact that U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake’s 21-year-old son, Austin, and daughter-in-law, Logan, were supposedly caring for the pets while her parents — the onsite owners —- were out of town.

Although the animal neglect and cruelty resulting in the deaths of the dogs in their care was horrific, the newspaper apparently doesn’t find their names even worthy of mention. We do.

Huppenthal’s tearful apology at news conference

June 26, 2014

“My actions need to bring honor…….”

John Huppenthal, Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction, broke down in tears as he apologized Wednesday for what he called “hurtful” comments posted anonymously on various blogs —- including Seeing Red AZ. Huppenthal, who has called parents who oppose the federally mandated Common Core education schemebarbarians,” was moved to tears as he repeated his earlier statement that his words didn’t reflect what he felt in his heart about either minorities or those who receive public assistance. This current situation is not the first time Huppenthal’s lack of judgment has attracted negative attention. Back in 2008, Chandler police recommended city prosecutors charge then-state Sen. Huppenthal (R Dist.20) with two misdemeanor counts of theft and cutting down a campaign sign critical of him. His actions included pulling out a sign and his confrontation with a 78-year-old Democrat activist on Election Day. She alleged Huppenthal grappled with her and snatched signs out of her hands.  The East Valley Tribune carried the entire story.

McCain toadies endorse ship-jumping Kate McGee

June 25, 2014

Just when it appears we’ve seen it all, raw political machinations continue to amaze. Kate Brophy McGee has sent out this announcement heralding what she terms her “key Phoenix City Council endorsements.”

The incumbent council members ooze with compliments for the Republicrat Legislative District 28 incumbent House member —- despite the fact that during her tenure McGee has made a habit of jumping ship from the Republican caucus to repeatedly voting with the Democrats.

If you’re wondering why council members Sal DiCiccio, Bill Gates, Jim Waring and Thelda Williams have all joined in slobbering effusive praise on McGee although there are three Republicans running in the district, look no further than the connective “Mc” before her surname.

Pull back the curtain to reveal master puppeteer John McCain. His aides lobbied on behalf of Bill Gates initially getting appointed to his city council post, although the team was not so chummy back in 2009, when Thelda Williams voted against Gates’ appointment.

Waring served McCain as a former staffer, and in this Arizona Republic election questionnaire refers to one of McCain’s quotes as the best piece of political advice Waring says he’s ever received: “Use your judgment,” McCain told Waring. “If it’s no good, you won’t be in office very long, anyway.”

Not to be outdone, last November, councilman Sal DiCiccio, another former McCain staffer, followed his mentor’s lead, as seen here, Waring, getting the message, dutifully hopped on the endorsement bandwagon as well —- although none of the endorsements helped perennial candidate Martin Sepulveda, then running for state treasurer.

The cunning DiCiccio credits his teacher and mentor, liberal former U.S. Rep. Harry Mitchell, who required his students to attend Tempe City Council meetings, with originally planting the seeds of interest in politics.

Joining in these McCain approved united endorsements of McGee indicate obediently falling in (Mc)line overrides the conservative Republican ideology these council members purported to represent when running for the Phoenix City Council.

The knotty conundrum facing conservatives voters in LD 28 is that none of the three Republicrats running are worthy of support.

The rise of arrogant “off with their heads”demanders

June 24, 2014

Calls for incumbents to step down becoming commonplace with elites

We hear a lot about bullies these days. Traditionally they were fist-swinging school yard intimidators, usually bigger and brasher and primed for a fight.

Today they are those who think surreptitiously taped private conversations require an NBA team owner to lose his holdings. After being slapped with a lifetime ban from the organization and fined $2.5 million, his team is up for sale pending league approval.

Politicians who don’t like others of their ilk have entered the fray. But instead of swinging their fists, they demand that the other politicians leave, resign or otherwise take a permanent hike. The bullies stand on rocks of righteous indignation, wearing an aura of pomposity and cloaked in irreproachable morality.

Recently we have witnessed the spectacle of politicians with their own favored candidates in the wings, calling for GOP office holders to step down. Calls are now mounting for state superintendent of public education John Huppenthal to resign. His crime? Using aliases while commenting on blogs. Make no mistake, we are not Huppenthal fans, and in fact, support his conservative challenger Diane Douglas, who has won the endorsement of Michelle MalkinBut the unseemly spectacle of educrats, including the president of the leftwing state teachers union and a couple of has-been state superintendents demanding Huppenthal’s resignation —- coupled with the AZ Chamber of Commerce canceling an awards luncheon honoring him, speaks worse of them than it does of him.

The same fate has befallen Arizona’s effective, conservative Attorney General Tom Horne. His political adversaries, McCain allies who have recruited their own malleable candidate, are contemptibly calling for his resignation —- a shaky political overreach that would, in more reasonable times, cause damaging blowback on them.  Republicans, marginal though they are, have joined with the liberal Arizona Republic against a proven and effective leader who has successfully challenged the Obama administration, sued the federal government to stop ObamaCare and has personally argued on behalf of the state in Federal District and Ninth Circuit Courts, plus winning two major victories for Arizona in the U.S. Supreme Court —-  including Arizona’s right to require evidence of citizenship when registering to vote. Horne defended SB 1070, something his McCain-bonded challenger would never have done.

Yet the allegations have been like buckshot, despite the fact that an independent judge found the accusations of campaign finance violations were false. That decision garners scant coverage.

The bullies have become emboldened thinking their calls for resignation are golden. In fact, they are premature and arrogant.  The ballot box works.
