John McCain subject of censure vote by GOP leadership & Update

Among the 13 Resolutions to be voted on at the at the Jan. 11, 2014 Mandatory Meeting of Maricopa County Republican Precinct Committeemen in Phoenix is the following Resolution To Censure Sen. John McCain.

“As leaders in the Republican Party, we are obligated to fully support our Party, platform, and its candidates. Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both. For too long we have waited, hoping Senator McCain would return to our Party’s values on his own. That has not happened. So with sadness and humility we rise and declare…”

RESOLUTION #8:   Senator John McCain Censured by Arizona’s Republican Leadership — As leaders in the Republican Party, we are obligated to fully support our Party, platform, and its candidates. Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both. For too long we have waited, hoping Senator McCain would return to our Party’s values on his own. That has not happened. So with sadness and humility we rise and declare:

Whereas Senator McCain has amassed a long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats, such as Amnesty, funding for ObamaCare, the debt ceiling, liberal nominees, assaults on the Constitution and 2nd amendment; and

Whereas this record has been disastrous and harmful to Arizona and the United States; and

Whereas Senator McCain has campaigned as a conservative and made promises during his re-election campaigns, such as the needed and welcomed promise to secure our borders and finish the border fence, only to quickly flip-flop on those promises; and

Whereas McCain has abandoned our values and has been eerily silent against Liberals, yet publicly reprimands Conservatives in his own Party, therefore

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Maricopa County Republican Committee censures Senator McCain for his continued disservice to our State and Nation, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that until he consistently champions our Party’s Platform, we, the Republican leadership in Arizona will no longer support, campaign for or endorse John McCain as our U.S. Senator.

The other Resolutions can be viewed here on the Maricopa County Republican Committee News Briefs and Updates. Two proposed by-law changes are also up for consideration. They can be viewed on the same link.

  2. Doc says:

For th’ RECORD: 1ST-HE DOESN’T CARE
2ND-THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN EVERY COUNTY
3RD-NEXT LEVEL PUNATIVE ACTION NEEDS TO OCCUR
4TH-flake NEEDS TO BE PAYING ATTENTION
    5TH-HE WON’T CARE EITHER…just sayin’…

    • Frankly Speaking says:

You’re correct, Doc. This liberal old goat doesn’t care. He knows he can lie, cheat, engage in political ‘knock out games’ with the Republican electorate, and still get re-elected. Kyl was exactly the same, but with more finesse, so he was able to con even more effectively.
Egotistical Jeff Flake is following in their exact same footsteps. Unless we make him a one-termer, we will have him in the US Senate siding with the Democrats just as his McMentor has, but for decades to come.

      • Helen Keith says:

That is what I’ve been preaching for quite some time. McCain lives a life of luxury and doesn’t care what his constituents want. The only way this can be fixed is term limits for congress.

    • ZOO says:

In the first wind of this yesterday I had the same gut reaction as you Doc. McCain’s treasonous mindset/agenda cannot be changed, even at gun point. But if this action(s) contributes in the slightest to derail McCain’s plot to commandeer key positions in our state government by installing his lackeys, I’m all for it. I’m proud of our PCs and I hope they will pass all these resolutions. It is a much needed shot in the arm – symbolic or not.

      • Doc says:

I Most Whole-Heartedly Concur with your assessment, ZOO! If this will prevent any mcStainiacs from gaining foothold I’m ALL FOR IT! Other counties need to get on board though…

  3. LD 23 PC says:

We need a solid conservative candidate to run against the Flake. Mormons support him, so an LDS candidate would seem a good choice. But let’s not forget how the establishment pushing Flake hammered Wil Cardon, who was a great challenger. Unfortunately, he used a less than effective liberal political consultant who had worked for the likes of Dem Phil Gordon.

Cardon is currently running for AZ Secretary of State. Support him! He’s a true conservative which is why McCain and Kyl fought him so hard in favor of their tool Jeff the Flake.

My RINO state Sen. Michele Reagan is running for SOS. Bad news. She voted with the Democrats for Medicaid Expansion, known as OBrewerCare.

    • Delilah says:

Michelle Reagan is the Olympia Snow of Arizona. And you see what has happened to her. Get rid of Michelle.

  4. Ellsworth says:

My wife and I are longtime elected precinct committeemen. We will surely support the censure against RINO John McCain He ‘s nothing short of a fraud. I agree with Frankly Speaking. Jeff Flake deserves such a vote of censure, also.

  5. Orion says:

McCain might act as though he doesn’t care, but the national attention this censure is garnering already is a major embarrassment factor. May more such follow! I also agree that the devious Jeff Flake should receive the same treatment from the Republican base. He is every bit as deceptive as McCain. Check out his sneakiness of the very significant issue of amnesty for the invading hordes.

Republicans are misrepresented by these two.

    • Doc says:

Senatorial candidate jeff flake: “I LIED! (laughing while he says it…)” & Arizonans ELECTED HIM ANYWAY?!?!? He needs th’ SAME TREATMENT NOW!!!

      • Tomfoolery says:

Even worse, Doc, is Flake’s change of heart on illegal aliens. As a US Rep., e was strongly supportive of amnesty….UNTIL his US Senate campaign. Then he flipped and got ripped a new one by the pro amnesty AZ Repulsive. The stunned editors should have waited a bit. The day after he was sworn in, he was back supporting amnesty and quickly joined up with McCain and the other liberals on the Gang of 8. Flake is appropriately named.Just like McCain, he thinks we’re easily fooled since he got elected. I suggest showing him he’s wrong.

  6. goodyearconservative says:

Don’t forget, John McCain also voted for…
    $700 billion TARP/Wall Street bailout.
To send billions of taxpayer dollars to countries that demonize Christians and Jews and supports the Muslim brotherhood.
Voted to confirm Gina McCarthy as head of the EPA (The EPA is trying to shut down the Navajo Generating Station which could cost AZ hundreds of thousand of jobs.
Voted against the 2003 Bush tax cuts, just to continue his warmongering
Stalled the nomination of Samuel Alito (a pro-life and pro second amendment judge).
Voted to confirm Hillary Clinton and has even stated that he would vote for her over conservative Rand Paul.
Voted against Rand Paul’s and Mike Lee’s budgets which reforms the tax code and entitlements, gets rid of the EPA and other out of control federal agencies and gets us to a billion dollar surplus by 2020.

Does this look like the voting record of a conservative?

  7. VINOAZ says:

This rings hollow now that he is not likely to run again. Where were all you good Republicans in the last election? McCain has been a liar and a fraud for years. He should have been defeated in the primary last time around (actually the one before that). The party should have produced a better candidate and ousted this embarrassment of our state. But wait, you all produced Flake. There is never a right way of doing a wrong thing. Sustaining Membership Statement from the AZ Republican Party arrived yesterday. LOL! Enjoy the Kool-Aid, I will have some tea.

    • Seen It All says:

      VINOAZ,
McCain will run again! I’ll bet you a bottle of Barons de Rothschild Chateau Lafite Rothschild! His ego and malfunctioning brain cells will not allow him to do anything else.

Flake? Two things must take place.
First we must be dedicated to the concept of withholding our votes from this lying prick while he’s still a first term senator, regardless of who his challenger is.
Two, we need a conscientious conservative with the actual ability to raise the funds necessary to mount a viable campaign to challenge him. This is imperative. If it’s not done when he’s up for reelection, we will have this charlatan still streaking his hair with blonde when it’s pure white.

  8. Shirley Cunningham says:

You are all on the cutting edge. Now if every state would do this with their Rhino’s maybe we could get back to having Republican’s to represent all of us. We are tired of Liberals on both sides. We want true Conservatives. You give the voters Conservatives, you will win hands down. Thanks again. From Iowa

  9. Iodine says:

John McCain is a traitor to our country and the people of Arizona. Term limits must be put in place.

  10. Mary Ann Ward says:

I don’t live in Az i live in Ca. I love AZ and I am fully in agreement with what your GOP did today!!! This is what needs to happen all across America. First with bad GOP senators and then with BOzo. He needs to be removed from office. Completely he is not legal to be President and his decrees should be over turned. Then maybe the U.S can get back to being the Nation I grew up in.

  11. grassroots says:

I pray this prayer found in Psalm 109:8, for McCain and Flake.

  12. Jim Doyle says:

Why can’t you put forward a recall petition for 2014 elections? Put both of these clowns on it. McCain has been an embarrassment to the nation since he lost to the idiot Bush in 2000.

  13. Pat Travitz says:

Thank you for this censure. Maybe it will be an example for some of the other ER (Establishment Republicans.) We Pray that it is an example.
