Is Martha McSally getting cold feet, ditching senate race?

It sounds like Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is acting as proxy, making McSally’s withdrawal announcement from the US Senate race for her

This message was in this morning’s incoming email box:

Subject: Another kind of battle

GOVERNOR SCOTT WALKER

(First name of recipient)
Congresswoman Martha McSally is a strong, battled-tested leader. Literally.

She was the first female fighter pilot in American history to fly in combat and to command a fighter squadron in combat.
Now she is facing another kind of battle:
Running for re-election in Arizona’s hotly contested Second District.
Congresswoman Martha McSally is smart, focused, experienced, and being targeted for defeat. She is facing a very tough re-election in a district Hillary Clinton won by 5 points in 2016. Add to that the fact that Senator John McCain’s 2016 Democrat opponent actually MOVED down to Southern Arizona to run against Martha.

Pundits are already predicting it could be one of the closest House races in the country in 2018. Martha won her seat in Congress by just 167 votes in 2014 and Democrats desperately want to flip this swing seat.

This race has national implications and we need to keep Martha in Congress fighting for a safe, strong, and secure America.

Martha is the only female GOP veteran serving in the United States House of Representatives, where she is a strong advocate for our conservative agenda.

She is not just a Congresswoman, she is a national hero.
Martha is focused on national security and keeping our country and communities safe – which is not surprising given her military background and the fact that she hails from a border state. She is leading the fight to secure our borders and defeat ISIS.

A staunch fiscal conservative, Martha is committed to getting our fiscal house in order. She supports initiatives to bring the cost of college down so it isn’t bankrupting students and their families – not unlike what we have accomplished in Wisconsin.

Stand with conservative fighter Martha McSally today.

Majority control of Congress is at stake and I urge you to support Martha McSally in her re-election battle. Support Martha McSally right now with $10, $35, $50, $100, $175, $250, or more.

Thank you,
Scott Walker

Martha McSally is a McCain clone. She might be the best Republicans can get in the People’s Republic of Pima County, but to represent the state of Arizona in the US Senate???? My God! Haven’t we learned anything from having John McCain and Jeff McFlaky in DC all these years? I’m with Dr/ Kelli Ward. She’s an actual conservative and supports President Trump.

In the mail on Wednesday, I received a form letter from former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., John Bolton, who supports McSally
and is asking for a monetary donation to her campaign.

Just a few days ago, Bolton was giving an in-depth explanation of why N. Korea was suddenly opening up a channel of communication with South Korea. I thought that it was a brilliant assessment.
And then I learn that he endorses McSally.

RE: The fire at Billary’s house in upstate NY yesterday.

    Someone posted this:
The Clintons are so insufferable that their house tried to commit suicide.

    • Pima Pal says:

Did John Bolton endorse McSally or the House as Gov. Walker did or for the senate seat she declared for?

      I live in McSally’s district. She’s a RINO.

BTW, great line about the Clinton’s house trying to commit suicide!!!

The answer to your question is Very Interesting.
The letter auto-signed by Bolton repeatedly uses the phrase re-elected to Congress. Nothing about House or Senate at all.
He pushes her military career, ad nauseum.

The envelope also contained a form letter which is auto-signed by McSally.

Her letter is four pages in length and she repeatedly begins her sentences with the words “My friend. . . .”

        Sound familiar?

Also enclosed in the envelope is a one page “Pledge Of Support” which asks for a “generous gift” of money.
        With the instructions:
Please make checks payable to: McSally For Congress

        How very swampy.

  3. State Committeeman says:

McSally or Ward? There’s no contest. Ward is by far the better candidate. If McSally accepts a McCain endorsement, that will fill in the blanks. I suspect her advisers have already spoken to his DC Chief of Staff and warned him not to put her in a box by offering it. That would be the kiss of death to any conservative Republican. Think of the reprisals that perpetually angry old jerk would wield if his endorsement was turned down. We’ve all seen him do his dirty work using surrogates.. He’s not named Son of Cain without reason.

    • Trevor says:

If McSally gets a McCain endorsement it’s like poison same with getting endorsed by Hillary.

  4. Southwest Cincinnatus says:

Don’t be deceived…If “Sally McCain” decides to run for the Senate, she can convert what she raises in her House Fund for that other Federal Race!!! In fact, this may be a “stealth effort” to raise dough from folks who think she’s ok for Pima County, but bad news for all of Arizona!!!
Remember 2010…when ASS raided the “Presidential Matching Fund” and converted it to his GOP Primary Race against JD Hayworth…”Mr. Campaign Finance Reform” took advantage of this “federal loophole” so he could outspend JD 10-1!

    • Kent says:

Good information, Southwest Cincinnatus. I was unaware that campaign funds were that flexible, but I should have suspected as much. The same folks who transfer the money as it suits them are the ones who wrote the laws enabling them to do just that.
Martha McSally is too slick for me. She’s been claiming for quite a while that she voted with President Trump most of the time. I’d like an issue by issue vote to substantiate that is actually the case. She’s exactly the type of liberal Republcam who can win in southern Arizona.. Statewide, I don’t think she appeals to the Trump base.

    • Trevor says:

McCain’s little “campaign finance reform” was backed by Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson Lee, Luis Gutierrez, RINOS Mark Kirk and Lindsey Graham!

  5. Conservative Since Birth says:

Hugh Hewitt, on his radio show on Jan. 3rd said he flew from CA to AZ “yesterday” (Jan. 2) to meet with the Arizona GOP – subject was McSally. He was singing her praises and not at all charitable about Kelli Ward. Sarcastic, actually.

Who is Hugh Hewitt that he’s so close to the AZ GOP?
