Why McCain is ditching “rock star” Hillary for Lindsey

In 2013, Arizona’s doddering senior senator John McCain proclaimed Hillary Clinton a “rock star” who he could support for the presidency in 2016.

His deep affection for Clinton remained true, even in the face of the outrage he expressed over the four dead Americans at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya —- left unprotected by the State Department Clinton oversaw and the barrage of lies told in the cover-up effort. Then on October 6, 2014 came the tear jerking  news that the two-timing McCain was jilting Hillary

We wrote at the time: The old crooner either forgot he was already serenading his liberal honey Hillary, or he suddenly discovered she isn’t quite as alluring as his submissive South Carolinian buddy Lindsey Graham. Either way, the daily reported that “if U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham decides to run for president in 2016, he can count on the whole-hearted support of the 2008 Republican nominee, U.S. Sen. John McCain, his longtime ally on national security, immigration reform and other matters.”

“Of course,” McCain, said, explaining his change of heart. “I mean, we’re the closest of friends.”

These days, McCain’s fickle-heartedness has an even more pragmatic thrust propelling his decision-making. Since he was blowing kisses in Hillary’s direction, elected Republican precinct committeemen at their January 2014 annual Maricopa County mandatory meeting overwhelmingly passed a resolution to censure him by a vote of 1,150 – 351. A similar, embarrassing  censure was also  passed at the GOP statewide meeting of elected state committeemen two weeks later. At the 2015 GOP Statutory Meeting McCain and Flake were both booed and met by turned backs and an array of derisive lapel buttons and stickers.

Although Lindsey Graham kicked off his presidential bid Monday, he hasn’t even registered a blip on the RealClearPolitics political radar.  And without making it into the top 10 —- which is highly unlikely —-  he won’t make the cut for the August and September debates.

Those details are of little consequence to McCain as he desperately attempts to burnish his tarnished image. He is solely focused on the fact he can’t get away with supporting liberal Hillary when he is likely facing a conservative challenger in state Sen. Kelli Ward.  The family physician, also a lawmaker, mom and military wife, is married to AZ Air National Guard Colonel Michael Ward, who currently serves as Arizona’s Air Surgeon.

McCain, on the other hand, as reported in the Examiner, urged the IRS to target Tea Party, conservative groups, and his operatives have worked to eradicate conservative PC’s in a concerted effort to replace them with mavericky moderates after the censures. FrontPage carries this report detailing how McCain used San Francisco Obama donors to purge conservative precinct committeemen from the Arizona Republican party ranks.

McCain likely recruited Lindsey Graham, his obliging toady and nearly constant companion, to provide him much-needed cover. Why else would the South Carolina senator, who was censured throughout his own state, enter the already packed GOP presidential field where he has little chance of success?

It’s time for the manipulative and aged RINO McCain to take a rest in one of his eight…or is it seven or nine?…homes. He can’t remember.

“At this point, what difference does it make.” McCain will never get my vote.

    • State Delegate says:

Mine either!! I would vote for a liberal democrat over this practiced liar. The result would be the same.

      Another fine post, SRAZ!

      • Republican Gal says:

State, I agree. I voted for Sarah palin, too embarassed that I ever cast a vote for that nasty person. But never again, the most Liberal Democrat around will get my vote before McCain.

The old goat can’t afford to stick his thumb in the eye of the AZ voter this election cycle and openly support his “friend” Hillary. He’s running yet again.

In the past, the old codger openly said he would consider becoming John Kerry’s vice-president in the run against GWBush. He was also thisclose to CT Democrat, Joseph Lieberman and the two were supportive of “bipartisan” gun-control legislation.

At least now, he’s pushing a fellow RINO for president. I wonder what the real reason is that Lindsey Graham is running. He doesn’t have a chance. He’s unpopular in his home state of S. Carolina. I’m sure it’s to create mischief in concert with McCain to knock out the Conservatives.

Greta Van Susteren featured Lindsey Graham on her show yesterday. They played pool together and chatted about his past in So. Carolina. He struck me as a lightweight, but with an underlying mean streak. He’s another one who runs as a conservative and then does things like vote for Loretta Lynch – Eric Holder in a skirt – and one of the few “Republicans” to do so – along with Jeff Flake.

John McCain has risen to political prominence on crafting his image as a Vietnam POW war hero. Yet for no discernable reason has worked very hard for years to hide from the public factual information about American prisoners in Vietnam who, unlike him, didn’t return home. As he promoted his version of his bravery, he shamelessly insulted their relatives at congressional hearings. Listen to this shocking exchange.

        What an evil old man.

      • American Dad says:

Given her background, along with her husband’s, it’s inconceivable that Sen. Kelli Ward would ever conduct herself in such an repulsive manner. I just watched this video and feel disgusted. John McCain is an arrogant and deceitful man who needs to be put out to pasture.

  3. Doc says:

What’d th’ voter say when he read that this moron spoiler mcGraham was running for President?

    …BWAH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s the trio from the 2008 presidential “run” when McCain treated Obama better than he treats Conservatives.

  5. Arizona Conservative Guy says:

McCain has partnered with numerous Democrats throughout his career and until recently he was happy to claim he was a frequent visitor at the Obama White House.. His liberal cohorts have included Ted Kennedy, Russ Feingold, Hillary Clinton, Arlen Specter, and his supposed “bi-partisan” buddies who worked with him, Flake and Marco Rubio on the notorious Gang of Eight amnesty sham. Leftist Dick Durbin authored the original DREAM Act, giving away the store to illegals. Liberal Robert Menendez is a member of Congressional Hispanic Caucus pushing for amnesty, the despicable UpChuck Schumer and Robert Bennet who is following his LDS church’s direction on welcoming illegals since they are the being recruited at breakneck speed. Utah is a “sanctuary state.”

The Senate Conservatives Fund wants to replace John McCain, as many Arizonans do:

We Conservatives support Sen. Kelli Ward and hope she demolishes McCain. She’s bright and has a depth of understanding of the crucial issues that the lightweight McCain has been supporting with liberals for years.

It’s a shame that establishment Republican radio station KFYI has likely incinerated the classic parodies aired by J.D. Hayworth on his drive-time show. Many might remember exchanges between
McCain and Lindsey Graham (with J.D. doing both voices) in which Graham continuously referred to McCain as “daddy.” This seemed to really irritate the Albino RINO, who began to challenge Hayworth to run against him.

  7. Republican Gal says:

If he endorses Hillary that is just one more nail in his coffin.

    • Buzz says:

Read! The whole point of this post was that he has dumped Hillary in favor of Lindsey Graham, who isn’t going anywhere. McCain is doing that to try to give himself some credibility, which he has never had and can’t buy, regardless of Cindy Lou’s wealth. SRAZ even concludes that McCain might have recruited his close buddy Grahamesty to take the heat off of himself prior to the election getting underway. It’s his and Flake’s MO. They get away with it because the average voter has a pea size brain and matching retention level. Bring on the beer and sports!!

  8. Orion says:

I believe McCain has been repeatedly reelected for these four reasons.
    I. Senior citizens believe his self created and much disputed hero hype. Many of the men who were in prison with him in Vietnam, tell a different story.
    2. Newcomers to Arizona know his name to the exclusion of others on the ballot.
    3. RINOs and liberals love him. They know he is ruthless, has an heiress wife and massive amounts of lobbyist money and will usually vote exactly as the democrats, so there‘s no problem for them.
    4. Low information voters who believe it is a civic duty to vote have no idea what he actually stands for and that he supports the illegal invasion of the USA, since he lies about it on his campaign ads. We need to stop encouraging everyone to vote. Dunces shouldn’t.

    • azgary says:

      1)open primaries.

that’s why robert graham and those who own the azgop will not allow them to be closed to republicans only. in all likely hood are the same ones responsible for blocking even an opportunity for debate on a constitutional convention in cahoots with biggs.

they cannot allow power to the voters.

      • Orion says:

You’re correct, azgary. I missed the most important reason of all. As to Robert Graham, he is clearly in McCain’s pocket. I’m sorry to say I voted for him. What a colossal mistake!

  9. Maggie says:

McCain has strangely and repeatedly referred to Lindsey Graham as “my illegitimate son.‘ The wussy Graham strikes me as more of an illegitimate daughter.
