Border hypocrisy, lies, flung by McCain & AZ Republic

Chronic deceit from AZ’s senators and local newspaper

Arizonans are routinely treated as fools. Not only are we subjected to colossal dishonesty on issues related to our dangerously porous border by U.S. Sens. John McCain and Jeff Flake, but the open border proponents at the Arizona Republic conspire with them to bend facts to suit a distinctly leftwing agenda.

Tuesday’s editorial,* “Fences? We don’t need no stinking fences” is a case in point.  The prevailing opinion of the “editorial board,” whom we are led to believe write this preposterous dreck in unison, is that any political discussion regarding securing the border is “stuck in a time warp.”

The fence, they claim, is “a largely completed component of a broader border strategy that relies on technology” — rather than an “ugly, unneighborly concrete and steel barrier, between the U.S. and Mexico —- a valuable trading partner.”

According to the wizards at the newspaper, “solar-powered towers with radar, cameras that offer real-time and day-and-night surveillance” are part of the border technology plan. Hot off the drawing board and supposedly in place, are “underground sensors, imaging sensors, remote surveillance stations and mobile units.”

We’ve been down this road before. Since Thanksgiving was just a month ago, lets “talk turkey” instead of preposterous liberal notions.

Back in Feb. 2008, Michael Chertoff, the second Homeland INsecurity Secretary, visited our state and declared that a brand new high-tech “virtual fence” along the Arizona /Mexico border near Sasabe “looks good.”

By April of the same year, the technologically advanced virtual fence intended to provide an alternative to “divisive” walls and federal agents policing the Arizona-Mexico border was exposed as a “virtual flop.”

Two years and $700 million later, Janet Napolitano, who followed Chertoff, froze the funds for the virtual fence, before axing it altogether.

And Arizona’s senators?

Here’s the REAL John McCain as opposed to the phony candidate border hawk strolling Arizona’s southern border with Pinal Sheriff Paul Babeu and declaring the need to “complete the dang fence.”

On February 24, 2010, John McCain questioned then-Homeland INsecurity Secretary Janet Napolitano during the Budget Submission Hearing for Fiscal Year 2011, where he stated the “border fence issue has been a waste of billions of dollars.”

Who are you going to trust? John McCain or John McCain?

McCain underling Jeff Flake is also adept at differentiating his campaign border stance from this actual one. Haven’t you had enough?

Mexico is certainly “a valuable trading partner.” They trade us their criminal invaders who displace American workers and their drug smugglers who addict our kids and we respond in kind by making sure they are comfortable, fed, their kids are educated and they all receive health care and other benefits once they illegally flood our country. Quite a trade.

Just a reminder, we have no real national representation in Az that is against Amnesty:
      What immigration reform must entail
By U.S. Reps. David Schweikert, Matt Salmon and Paul Gosar
      http://archive.azcentral.com/opinions/articles/20130430schweikert-salmon-gosar-immigration.html

and while i know many readers of seeingredaz as well as the site itself are kelli ward fans, her position on illegals mirror our pro amnesty congresscritters.

support her all you want, but instead of saying shes better than jonny Mcamnesty, why not push her to the much better stance of choosing Americans first and deporting illegals?

      • Observer says:

You’re right! We are being scammed, not “represented.”

I read that piece of garbage by U.S. Reps. David Schweikert, Matt Salmon and Paul Gosar when it was first written and nearly puked. I decided that day that my congressman would have to win without my vote. I won’t support this gratuitous BS from \him or anyone else, and that includes amnesty supporters Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio.

Having an “R” after their names stands for nothing. They are more intent on being politically correct and not offending than they are about representing American citizens who foot the bill for this inanity.

O/T, Saw this at “briefs” this morning, my best wishes and prayers go out to the Arpaio family:

“Prayers Are Asked for the recovery of Sheriff Joe’s wife Ava, who has been hospitalized. Briefs does not have details at post time, but we will keep you informed as we get updates.”

    • Maggie says:

I read the notice about Ava Arpaio also. I tried Googling for further information and even looked at the newspaper’s website since the Arpaio’s daughter is married to editorial page editor Phil Boas. Nothing. He’s so opposed to the sheriff I didn’t expect much human kindness from Boas, but many of us care about the lovely Ava.

If only I could unsubscribe from the lies of McCain and Flake as I did unsubscribe a decade ago from the AZ Republic. They repeatedly offered me a discounted rate to get me back. I finally told them, “Look, I wouldn’t subscribe if it was free. It is the left wing lying content I don’t want coming into the house.”

I guess someone needs to subscribe, Seeing Red AZ. Thank you for maintaining your sanity while you do.

    A reminder:
John McCain admired Ted Kennedy; Kennedy recalled McCain’s corruption. The ethics of Charlie Keating met those of Chappaquiddick, and John McCain helped Ted Kennedy, Carl Levin, Dick Durbin and Chuck Schumer give Amnesty to illegals, open our borders and radically change American culture.
In 1965 Kennedy pushed Hart Seller, a bad Immigration law, and spent 40 years adding to his mistake. After 2001 John McCain co-sponsored 3 “Dream Acts” (conditional Amnesties for resident Illegals).
In 2005 McCain-Kennedy opened borders, expanded immigration and all visas and offered Amnesty (where many illegal immigrants in the US could stay here permanently by paying a non-specific fine.) In 2008 John McCain craved more power (but polls said most Americans wanted US borders closed). So McCain ran for President against his own McCain-Kennedy and Dream Acts, saying, “American people want the border secured first” His cynical Presidential platform even said, “We oppose Amnesty.” McCain lost and changed his “beliefs”…again – leading the Gang of Eight for Immigration Amnesty.
In 2013 McCain’s Gang of eight followed Teddy Kennedy by offering Amnesty to 18 million illegals, inciting more illegal immigration and adding 15 million more green cards (permanent visas). (1) (2) (3) (4)
McCain’s Immigration/Amnesty Bills became law while 9/11 was still fresh in American history.
Kennedy, McCain and many Liberals live in cocoons of wealth and never see Illegals, except in the news when 9-11 or Boston explosions violate some immigrant’s “visa status”. But Americans lose millions of jobs and too often are killed by illegal immigrants like Mohammed Atta and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. (2)
Why does John McCain want to diminish the United States of America? The US was founded with a unique Constitution codifying liberty and freedom based on our Judeo-Christian, Capitalist culture.
McCain knows there are failed countries producing millions of immigrants with vastly different cultures.
If we cannot protect our borders, our culture or our laws, the US will be destroyed.

Sigh….. Reading the above that SRAZ has the patience and goodness to supply us with this valuable information just leaves me frustrated because it’s all “games” the politicians are playing. Things have gotten worse since this issue came to the fore decades ago.

It’s just a campaign issue to lie about to get elected (‘build the dang fence’) and it usually works.

Rubio, part of McCain’s destroyed Gang of Eight, is criticizing Ted Cruz for not being tough enough on the border issue, while he wants more Muslim immigration. ALL of D.C. wants unlimited immigration.

Just read about another “hero” – Trey Gowdy and his long pro-immigration history. He’s backing Marco Rubio for president. There goes another one – unashamed to support open borders. This endorsement was supposed to make Rubio look better but it only makes Gowdy look worse. It also appears too early for this kind of endorsement – Rep. Gowdy risks appearing like the establishment is pushing a candidate (Rubio) to influence the primary vote. Ya think?!

After Trey Gowdy gave Hillary 11 hours on national TV to look presidential, his credibility is going downhill fast. He was on Fox this morning saying the Benghazi investigation “isn’t over yet.” Not impressed with what they have so far. I said – under Boehner nothing would come of it – and under Ryan, I’m sure of it.

    Boy – I hope 2016 is better!

  7. East Valley PC says:

Have you heard about this massive fraud that is costing American taxpayers $BILLIONS a year as illegals living here in the USA are collecting tax refunds for children who have never stepped foot in the United States and are not even their own children? Try asking McCain, Flake or the AZ Repulsive about this. I say “try” because McCain and Flake usually hold “closed” town halls, where you must be approved to participate. The newspaper would never print a letter exposing the criminality of their beloved “migrants.”
This scam was uncovered in Indiana—far from the border. You can bet it’s being repeated by these “good people just trying to find a better life” all over the country. We are paying through the nose to support these criminals and the IRS looks the other way!!

    • State Delegate says:

My first thought is to call this “unbelievable,” but then I realize that this is merely one scam illegals are perpetrating against the United States and we are paying for. How brassy, slick and unrepentant these criminal invaders are…..
