Recruited candidate, rife with problems, becomes political hot potato
Seeing Red AZ appreciates the corroborating coverage of the bizarre state legislative campaign in District 6 by the Sonoran News. Investigative reporter Linda Bentley details how lifelong Democrat, Tony Bouie, perfected a quick registration switch to become an instant Republican and found himself the beneficiary of adoration by the open borders crowd and even a congressman or two.
The Sonoran News reports that when Tony Bouie’s lies became unmanageable, he authorized his wife to send out a vicious email in which she attempted to deflect his knotty problems by calling the elected precinct committeemen “white supremacists, racists and crazy people…who were out to crucify…and beat the living daylights out of Tony’s character.”
Bouie’s finger-pointing at challenger Carl Seel, turned out to be a nearly masterful means of deflecting scrutiny of his own travails. Bouie’s numerous difficulties include bankruptcy, foreclosure, and vehicular recklessness, including Criminal Felony Speeding and driving on a suspended driver’s license. The bankruptcy left his creditors holding the bag with losses n excess of a quarter million dollars
This would read like a Grade B farce, except for the serious, real life implications. Many of the district voters have already cast their early ballots, unaware of the charade that Tony Bouie has set out to perpetrate upon them.
In the end, Rep. Sam Crump, running for reelection, has endorsed Carl Seel and called upon Bouie to end his race:
“For some bizarre reason, Mr. Bouie has attempted to start his political career by lying to the voters. This demonstrates a serious character flaw that is unacceptable and I call on Mr. Bouie to immediately withdraw from this campaign,” said Crump.

Bouie’s lying about his Democrat voter registration and about LD-6 Republican precinct committeemen sickens me. This lying buffoon ought to have the decency to get out and leave this race to the honest platform Republicans, Rep. Sam Crump and Carl Seel. Bouie was never a Republican before April 9, 2008. How much do you think he knows or cares about what is contained in the Republican platform?
He wants to represent us at the State Legislature? I would dread the day!

The Sonoran News is the lone conservative publication in the Valley. It’s a real coup that it covered this site as it did. Seeing Red is the only place I’ve read the in-depth reports on Tony Bouie. Thx.
Rep. Sam Crump and Carl Seel earned our vote on their own metits. We want dependable conservative representation. Crump and Seel will provide what we are looking for.
After Bouie was written up in the Arizona Republic for lying, I heard he did drop out. No?

This is my biggest problem with Bouie. His own problems are reason enough for him to get out of the race. But no, instead he points the finger of guilt at our genuine Republican candidates. I am so glad Bouie-the-fraud was finally found out.
Just brought in my mail. Found an 8.5 x 11 hit piece courtesy of liar Bouie. What a fraud Bouie is. Bouie has zero Republican credentials and he’s sending hit pieces against one of our hardest party workers in the state, Carl Seel.
Carl is an Arizona Republican Party Officer. Bouie should be ashamed. Bouie has been a Republican for about 2 months. He has been to two Republican district meetings. He’s a proven liar and financial failure. And he’s throwing rocks at Carl Seel? I honestly believe Bouie has already been to his very last Republican district meeting ever. And this jerk is throwing rocks at real Republicans. I just find Bouie a totally despicable person, let alone a loser candidate.
The Republican Party can do a lot better than this sorry excuse for a viable candidate, Bouie. And they have. Rep. Sam Crump and Carl Seel will represent LD-6 like the honest platform Republicans we already know them to be. God Speed Crump and Seel!
I just looked at Growing our Party and saw that Carl Seel has resolved his problems with the lender. What a refreshing od-fashioned concept – work out your problems instead of leaving someone else holding the bag. I wonder how the Bouie campaign will try to spin this.
